The Talavera Sports Club of the historic Spanish-manchega city of Talavera de la Reina, in the province of Toledo... organized an intense nautical weekend in the Empeñas reservoir.

This sports club, attached to the Montaña de Castilla la Mancha Sports Federation and very active in the organization of activities in the natural environment, made a parenthesis in its usual activities, to program two days of water sports activity.

Thus, an expedition of members of the sports club of Talavera de la Reina, moved to one of the most attractive places in Castilla la Mancha, to begin in the practice and knowledge of water sports.

The activity took place at the School of Sailing of Alocén, being the accompanying water guide, Talaveran professor Alfonso Tertre.

Tertre, a technical of Vela and Windsurf of the Federation of Vela de Castilla la Mancha, experienced regatist of Formula Windsurf, did not hesitate a moment, in being able to accompany this group of animated Talaveran hikers to know one of the most beautiful places in the region of La Alcarria.

The attendees, in addition to enjoying an extraordinary natural site that the Tajo River forms in its way through the Alcarroña town of Alocén, were able to practice nautical sports such as sailing, paddle surfing, pyragüism and also the younger ones, windsurfing.

All the activity was carried out with the appropriate safety measures, such as the life jacket, the accompaniment of a sports technician and the protection of heat with cap, solar cream and continuous hydration.

The water of the Tajo River, surprised the participants, because its clarity and turquoise color, invited the bathroom and the enjoyment during the learning of the sports modalities mentioned above. Many of the attendees commented on the difference in the color and clarity of the Tajo River in this area with the real situation of the same river in its passage through Talavera, and that is what would have to be changed to recover the Tajo in its passage through the province of Toledo.

The illusion and desire to enjoy a wonderful weekend, certainly facilitated the success of the activity. Thus, three sports sessions were organized. The first, took place in the morning of the opening... where the sport to know and learn was the Paddle Surf.

On the second day of activity, a spire was carried out in pyroguas to know the canyons of the Takho River at its passage through Alocén. The participants could see beautiful cliffs, vultures and steep areas of great ecological value.
