After winning the Mini races in Mai and Mini Fasnet, the madrileño in the beautiful gerundense villa of Port da Selva... faces the last race before crossing the Atlantic in the mythical Mini-Transat 2023, which will start on September 24.
The ocean sailing regatist Carlos Manera, has a pletoric season in the Atlantic... after achieving three podiums in the last competitions is prepared for the Puru Trasgascogne with exit on July 22 from the Galo port of Port Bourgneay (France), to Getxo where the fleet of 72 ships will be 4 days, to face the second stage of return to the French port on the 28. A total of 620 miles across the Gulf of Vizcaya.
Carlos achieved in this same race two years ago the Good Perform Award a prize that is awarded to those who could have won the competition having a newer boat. At that time he competed with a born-in-law, a very old ship.
This year, however, it will do so with its new state-of-the-art prototype that they have built in the Bat Shipyard Synergy Racing Group SRG. Carlos was actively involved in the design of the ship with Sam Manuard and in the construction, along with his sister Elena Manera with whom he also made the initial setting of the ship and who sails with Carlos in the double races.
The route of the Puru Transgascogne race is very similar to that of the first stage of the Mini- Transat that will start on September 24 from Les Sables d'Olonne (France) to the island of La Palma (Canary Islands) and with final destination on the Caribbean island of Guadalupe after sailing more than 4,000 miles alone, without communication and without assistance, on a 6 '50 boat fully built in carbon fiber.
