The Count was created in 1976 by the missing Rafael Lorenzo Montero and Humberto Fernández Cervera, under the recent presidency of the unforgettable Rafael Olmedo Limeses. Since 1981, the design advocated by Fernando García Tobío, Estanislao Durán and Jacobo Fontán Domínguez... which is the current of the Carrumeiro... previously in its first three editions 1976 to 1979, the long race was really two tests: Baiona- Muros and Muros-Baiona... while in 1980 coinciding for the second time with the end of the Lymington- Baiona Regata went down to the Póvoa do Varzim (turning a beacon off the Povoense coast)...
Among the ORC teams that played the Count of Gondomar Trophy - for which they scored both the challenge of Carrumeiro and the Return to Ons and the last two tests - the Magic of Julio Rodríguez was today the best one to score two first positions. The final victory, however, was for the April Oil thanks to the two wins sealed in the stage of the Carrumeiro and in the turn to Ons, which had a score coefficient of 2 and 1.5 respectively and allowed the team to stay at the top of the general until the end of the quote.
The ship of Luis and Jorge Pérez-Canal... presented a very balanced crew in which were Chapu Torné, Eduardo Reguera, Juan de Cominges, Iago Carrera, Luis Sampedro, Sebastián Martinez-Risco, Pablo Espinosa, Luis da Rocha, Carlos San Martín and Jaime de la Ganara.
The second position of the general was for the Magical Vigués of Julio Rodrígue, completing the Eleko Mambo podium of Carlos Sampedro of the Cabanas Nautical Club.
In the Extra A ORC division, the Elekomambo has a strong victory. Carlos Sampedro's team signed a full of victories and rose with a 10-point advantage over the second one, the Racer de Januàrio Cruz (We Do Sailing). The third position was occupied by the Narval of José Antonio Portas (CN Vilagarcía).
In ORC Extra B he also gave no choice to his rivals the Unus de René García (MRCYB), who won the four trials at the Count of Gondomar Trophy and proclaimed himself the winner of his division. He was followed in the second and third positions respectively by Jean Claude Serrade's John'n Jack (YC do Porto) and Jorge Carneiro's Marine Ronautics (CN San Telmo).
The rest of the categories participated in a decaf Count, as they were not in the high regatta with a dinnino to the Carrumeiro Chico... in the organizational effort to protect the ever-smaller fleet that will be able to complete the hundred miles in search of the Galaica Fastnet, in the middle of Finisterre:
In ORC 0-3, a match for the Deep Blue 2.1 by Vicente Cid. The ship of the Royal Nautical Club of Vigo was made with the trophy with only one point of advantage over the Eye Piojo of Manuel Lopes (We Do Sailing), which also fought to the end. On the back, the third was the Black Mockery of Juan José Martínez (CN Castrelo).
In ORC 4-5, the Nahela de Víctor Manuel Álvarez was another team that did not give in any of the disputed tests, winning four out of four and winning ahead of the Bonaventure de José Luis Ríos (RCN Vigo), which was second, and the Esquio de Alejandro Castro (LM Bouzas), which ended in the third position.
There was also no option for the J80 fleet with an intractable Alboroto in the four completed tests. The team of Juan Carlos Ameneiro (MRCYB), which stands as one of the favorites for the September World Cup, made full of triumphs and ended the Count with the triumph in the division of monotypes ahead of the Cansino of Fernando Yáñez (MRCYB), which achieved a brilliant second place in the general. In the back, the Santiago Estévez Spaco (MRCYB) closed the drawer.
And in the Figaro class, victory for the Bouvento of Javier Bernardez del Monte Real ahead of the Serralleiras of Maria Casal and the Erizana of Pilar Cid, who signed a second and a third respectively and both representing the MRCYB.

Long day for the fleet participating in the 48th Conde de Gondomar Trophy - Grand Prix Zelnova Zeltia / Sabadell Urquijo... as the wind took time to attend your appointment.
The most rapid were the April Oils of Luis and Jorge Pérez-Canal, as well as the Magic of Julio Rodríguez, which also sails under the grompola of the Royal Nautical Club of Vigo... the crew of the Pérez-Canal brothers managed to cross the line of arrival in first position after seven in the afternoon and with advantage over those of Rodríguez.
At the time of writing this information when it was eight o'clock in the afternoon, the bulk of the fleet still continues to fight the Turn to Ons, which will leave the competition pending from what happens on Tuesday on the last day of race.
The trophy delivery, which will be held at 18: 30 when the last scheduled tests are completed, will put the final brooch to the appointment.

The April Oils of the Royal Nautical Club of Vigo, with the brothers Luis and Jorge Pérez- Canal in command, was the winner of the opening stage Trophy Conde de Gondomar - Grand Prix Zelnova Zeltia / Sabadell Urquijo.
The second team to complete the stage was the Magic of Julio Rodríguez, who also sails under the grympola of the Viguese club. Rodríguez's reached the line of arrival an hour and nine minutes after the April Oils, about 1: 00 a.m. Sunday.
This result placed those of Rodríguez in the second drawer of the general, while the third position was awarded by the Eleko Mambo of Carlos Sampedro (CN Cabanas), who crossed the line of arrival after five in the morning and after a night in which the wind was falling over the hours.
In addition to the ORC category, the fleet of the Conde de Gondomar Trophy is also divided into the Extra A and B classes, designed to open the great challenge of Carrumeiro to a greater number of teams and not only to the large high-competition slurs. Thus, in the Extra A division it was the Elekomambo that achieved the best result and in Extra B the triumph was taken by the Unus de René García (MRCYB), which recorded an inverted time of 17 hours and 27 minutes.
The Count has still ahead of him the traditional Return to Ons, scheduled for Monday from 11: 00 in the morning, and the two barlovento-sotavento tours on Tuesday.
