12 Spanish Olympic team regatists will compete in the first and only international championship to celebrate in which will be the race field of the next Games... The Marseille Test Event is presented as a World Championship player that in August will play the first country squares for Paris 2024

Under the supervision of the Organizing Committee of the Olympic Games in Paris 2024 and the World Sailing, tomorrow Sunday will begin the Marseille Test Event, a crucial test in the Olympic sailing calendar in which Spain will be represented by a selection of crews of the Olympic team due to the closed character of the competition.

There are twelve Spanish regatists present in Marseilles, one team per class as required by the rules of competition, with the exception of the Nacra 17 that is absent for reasons of training calendar. These athletes have been selected on the basis of technical results and reports, always with the view placed on the sports program of each class to improve the team work to be done at the August World Championship, to obtain the country square in as many classes as possible.

In 49er will compete Diego Botín (Cantabria) and Florian Trittel (Catalonia) who in 2023 were first in the Olympic Week of Hyères, a triumph that adds to the gold of the European Championship and the silver of the 2022 World Cup.

Támara Echegoyen (Galicia) and Paula Barceló (Baleares) make up the crew selected in 49er FX. Bronze medal in the 2022 World Cup, the Spanish dupla is located in the Top10 class with the eighth place of the International Ranking.

The Catalans Jordi Xammar and Nora Brugman will represent us in 470 Joint, also defending an excellent palmaris. Subchampions of the world and of Europe 2022, premiered on 2023 with a third place in the Princess Sofia Trophy to continue with a first in Hyères and a fifth in the European contest in Italy.

The Andalusian Pilar Lamadrid, second to the International Ranking, will be the one to bear the Spanish flag among the female iQFOiL. Current Spanish champion, he was fifth in the 2022 world and seventh in the European. In male iQFOiL will be the Nacho Baltasar, current continental champion Sub21.

With a fourth place in the International Ranking, Gisela Pulido (Catalonia) is among the best regatists in the world in Formula Kite. He was third in the 2022 European Championship and arrived in Marseille after obtaining a sixth place in the Allianz Regatta 2023. Catalan Bernat Cortés, the current Spanish champion, will represent us in the male category.

In classes ILCA 6 and 7 will be the Andalusian Ana Moncada and the canary Joaquín Blanco, champion and subchampion of Spain respectively.

The Test Event, a real general essay for the next Games at the organizational and logistical level, will be premiered on Sunday day nine with regatta for the 470, ILCA and Formula Kite classes, while the iQFOil, 49er and 49er FX will be on stage on Monday 11.
