Rain of medals for the young expedition of Spanish pyragüism
Success at the Sprint Junior World Championship and Sub- 23 in Italy... the Spanish delegation, achieved a total of three medals on the first day of the end, all of them, with Galician accent.
In the exciting final of C2 Sub- 23 of 1000 meters, Pablo Crespo and Martín Jácome, both representatives of the Club Escuela de Piragüismo City of Pontevedra, rose with the gold medal with an impressive time of 3: 34.88. The Ukrainians Atem Chetvertal and Pavlo Borsuk occupied the second position, registering a time of 3: 36.03, while the Hungarians Nicholas Fodor and Marton Horbath would be third with a time of 3: 37.89.
On the other hand, at the end of C2 500 meters Sub- 23, the pontevedresa Antita Otero and the Majorcan María Moreno took the bronze medal with a time of 1: 59.94. However, the Moldovan Daniela Cociu and María Olarasu achieved gold with a time of 1: 58.79, while the Hungarian Reka Opavszky and Laura Gonczol achieved silver with a time of 1: 59.39.
In the final of K4 500 meters Sub-23, the team formed by Iván Fernández, Xoel García, Alex Graneri and Carlos García stood out when he obtained the silver medal. The Spanish quartet completed the race in a time of 1: 21.18, leaving behind the Hungarian team that took the gold with a time of 1: 20.82. The Czechs also had an outstanding performance and took the bronze medal with a time of 1: 21.58.
In addition, Pedro Torrado represented Spain in the youth category of C1 1000 meters, ending in the ninth position. On the other hand, the K4 youth team composed of Oscar Aacergo, Iker Veiga, Anton Cao and Nicolás Gayol ended in sixth place at the end of 500 meters.
In the final of K2 1000 meters, Martín López and Javier García were about to get on the podium. However, the Spanish couple ended up in fourth place, leaving only half a second to get a medal.
Finally, two hours after his outstanding participation in the C2 test, Pablo Crespo competed in the final C1 1000 meters Sub-23, ending in the seventh position. On this occasion, the Italian Gabriele Casadei was made with victory.
