The European Youth Championship of 420 and 470 begins in Poland, for which 16 crews of 420 and 2 of 470 have moved to the town of Gdynia that will compete for the continental title until next Monday, July 10... and that join the quotes of ILCA6 also in Polish waters... and that of iQFoil that is taking place in the Italian lake of Garda...

In 470 the Spanish representation is in charge of the baleal crews formed by Neus Ballester / Jaime Wizner and Pablo Ruiz / Mª del Mar Ruiz. In the case of the 420, the Spanish delegation in Sub17 is headed by the Spanish champions José Medel / Pablo Fernández (Andalusia) and Natalia Domínguez / Inés Ameneiro (Galicia). The Canaries Miguel Padrón / Luís Mesa and Gabriela Cañibano / Ariane Muñoz also sail in this category, as well as the Catalan dupla formed by Daniel García / Quim Serra.

Eleven will be the teams that defend our colors in 420 Sub19, beginning with the baleares María Perelló / Marta Cardona and the canaries Jaime Ayarza / Mariano Hernández, who have taken over the national titles of their female and male category respectively. Along with them, the canaries Miguel Ágel Morales / Alejandro Martín and Sara Días / Lola Hernández; the baleares Marc Mequida / Ramón Jaume, Ian Walker / Fernando Barceló, Marisa Vicens / Marina Borrás and Nicola Jane / Sofía Cavaco; the Gallegos Pablo Rodríguez / Pablo lillens; the cantabros Javier Torcida / Juan Ilya; and the Catalan Nora García / Mariona Ventura.

As usual, the 420 will divide the race program in the Classical Series and Final Series, with 12 scheduled races plus Medal Race, while in the case of the 470 a single series of 11 more Medal Race tests will be held.

The Spanish regatists have been sailing in Polish waters for days, testing the configuration of the ships and facing various wind conditions, with good global sensations that make them aspire to be in the head of the fleet in all the categories in which they participate.

Caterina Tomás, leading in the European iQFOiL

Today the Final Series is starting in the iQFOil European Championship that has been held since Monday in Lake Garda, where the second position of the Caterina Tomás ballast and the ninth place of the Azul Sánchez Mellilleza between the Sub17; the also Barbara Winau ballast is 8th in Sub19, while Jorge Ruiz is 12th in Sub17 male and Ramón Villalonga 33rd in Sub19.

Also in Polish waters, but based in the city of Dziwnow, the Marga Perelló ballet gets the best Spanish position after the first day and two sleeves disputed, with a sixth place. The Zsombor Denes canary is eighth among the boys and the Catalan Xavi Tous is ninth in ILCA 6 absolute male.
