It was held in Portuguese waters by the Vela Lagos Club, the Iberian Windsurf Formula Championship, which featured windsurfers from Portugal, Spain and Brazil... as was the case with Ricardo Conde and Carlos Isaac.

On the first day of competition, the conditions of navigation were, from the afternoon, spectacular, with constant winds between 16 and 19 knots. The organization mounted a barlovento-sotavento tour of approximately 1.2 miles and a duration of about 20 to 25 minutes per test. Thus, 4 punctual sleeves were completed from which the worst result of each participant could finally be excluded.

From the start of the competition, you can see a great rivalry between the two main candidates for victory. In this way, both the Portuguese Vasco Chaveca and the Spanish Roberto Ortiz managed to be in the first two partial positions of the first three rounds of the race and without giving the other participants a choice to approach the head of the fleet.

In the fourth and final manga of the first day of this championship, it was the Andalusian Roberto Ortiz who wanted to take the initiative, but a fall relegated him to the fourth place in that round... after Chavez and Ortiz, it was the Brazilian Conde and Isaac who occupied the third and fourth place respectively.

The Spanish manchego Alfonso Tertre, held a very regular competition and held a prominent fifth place of the general, being a third place in the fourth test its best partial result.

On Sunday it was very hot and without a little wind, the judges waited until five in the afternoon to end the championship by not giving the necessary minimum navigation conditions and by giving validity to the results of the four tests carried out the previous day.
