Bullbox, Thelonious and Kohen class winners in peach water

The Asturian ships are very good to sail in the Vizcaina waters of the Abra during this summer... if a week ago the Taxus Environment was imposed on the Costa Vasca-Trofeo Golden Whale Regata, now it has been the Bullbox of Sebastiano Napoli that has reigned during this weekend after the two days of the three-day edition of the Bizkaia-Porsche Bilbao Championship, in which twenty-five cruises took part in one of the most relevant dates of those that take place in the Cantábrico... Thelonious of Jon Garai and the Kohen of Juan Carlos Estefanía signed up for the rest of the classes.

The second and final day took place with two tests and, luckily, with more wind than in the initial day on a cloudy Sunday. The Regatas Committee first left at 1315 hours in the outside Abra with a north-west wind of 10 to 12 knots for a 6-mile tour. The second 10-mile tour also started in this outdoor race field, opposite Punta Galea and the beach of Sopelana, with later entrance and triangle in the inner Abra, which always provides a beautiful image in this scenario.

The Asturian Bulbox of Sebastiano Napoli, of Puerto and Ria de Avilés, with a first and two seconds in place, ended first in the Regata Class with the Taxus Environment of Alfredo Flórez second and the Maitena of Mikel Emaldi in the third square, both with partial victories in the final day.

The Tchin Tchin of José Luis Ribed, the Akelarre of Mauricio Guibert, the Symphony of Javier Onaindia, the Rat Pack of Javier CHA varri, the Alpega of Alfonso Churruca and the Kenex of Igmacio Giménez were then classified.

Already in the Cruise class I the most regular was the Thelonious of Jon Garai - two first places on the last two tours, with the Kribi of Juanma Pereiro second and the Andarax Bi of Josu Portularme third. They were followed by the Go Blue of Ángel Herreerías, the Nexus of Javier Trueba, the Pendo Camargo of Pedro Fernández, the Cyclone of Javier Larrañaga and the Marmotinha of Koldo Báez.

In Cruise II, after two definitive tests of 3 and 7 miles in this class, he first finished the Kohen of Juan Carlos Estefanía, which went back to the M'Bour of Carlos Sánchez Santanderino. The Emilu de Lucio Fernández was third and then appeared the Blai de Íñigo Aldea, the Obelix de Pablo Gomeza, the Ramper de Jairo López de Guevara, the Haize Lore of Javier Gómez de Segura and the Turi of Simón Cortés in the general of this Bizkaia-Porsche Bilbao Championship, organized by the Royal Maritime Club of the Abr- Real Sporting Club, which this year celebrates its 125th anniversary.

Bullbox, Kribi and M'Bour take over at the Bizkaia- Porsche Championship

It cost, but in the end a test could be held on the first day of the three-eighth edition of the Bizkaia-Porsche Championship for Cruises in Abra waters.

The 25 ships in the race were marked the time of departure at one o'clock in the afternoon... but had to be held up for three hours in order to complete an 8-mile stowaway... which was used to know the leaders of the initial day: Bullbox, Kribi and M'Bour.

The Amazian Bulbox of Sebastiano Napoli, of Port and Ria of Avilés, is first in the Regata Class. He won for only 12 seconds after the time compensated to the Kenex cantabre of Ignacio Giménez, with the Akelarre of Mauricio Guibert in the third square.

The Tchin Tchin, Taxus Medio Ambiente, Maitena, Rat Pack, Alpega and Symphony were then located. Already in the Cruise class I is leader of the Kribi of Juanma Pereiro, with the Thelonious of Jon Garai second and the Marmotinha of Koldo Baez third.

Behind them are the Andarax Bi, Nexus, Cyclone, Go Blue and El Pendo Camargo. In Cruise II, after the four-mile test, it is first the M'Bour of Carlos Sánchez, followed by the Emilu, Blai, Kohen, Haize Lore, Turi and Ramper... tomorrow Sunday second chapter.

2023-07-05: Bizkaia Porsche Championship for this weekend in Las Arenas

Thirty-eighth edition of the Bizkaia- Porsche Championship for Cruises and J80 Monotypes, one of the most outstanding quotes in the Cantabrian Regatta Calendar.

This weekend at the Abra de Getxo 30 cruises, among which are several of the most prominent crews of the Basque, Cantabra and Asturian fleets... that will have the exits, both Saturday and Sunday, at the edge of one in the afternoon.

The Bizkaia- Porsche Championship for Cruises and J80, with exits both days of competition at 13 hours, is one of the dates always marked on its agenda by the regatists due to its special participation, its antiquity and prestige. It presents once again the demanding challenge for each ship to overcome the most relevant crews of the Cantabrian.
