The 11th Hour Racing Team pattern, Charlie Enright, was delighted to be able to win the race after all the effort it had taken to repair its IMOCA Mãlama after it was hit by the Guyot environnement-Team Europe shortly after the departure of Stage 7 in The Hague

The last day of the race of the 13th edition of The Ocean Race took place this Saturday afternoon with the Grand Final of Genoa.

The victory in the race assured the 11th Hour Racing Team a double victory: the victory in the return to the world and in the In Port Series... there was very little wind for the exit of the in Port race from the IMOCA and, after a short delay, the departure took place at 14: 15.

The four ships arrived late on the way out, but Team Malizia was the first to cross the line and take the lead with only 3 knots of wind... Team Holcim-PRB started more barlovento and seemed to be well located initially. But as the voluble breeze moved more to the right, the Swiss ship seemed to be getting more and more standing. After the Biotherm and the 11th Hour Racing Team made a bad way out, French and American teams began to reduce the disadvantage with Team Malizia.

In the end, it was the 11th Hour Racing Team that crossed the finish line to steal the victory from Team Malizia, which he had long led, but had to settle for second place. The Biotherm remained in third place, which gave them third place in general ahead of Team Holcim-PRB in the In-Port Series.

Final Classification of The Ocean Race In-Port Series (IMOCA)

1. 11th Hour Racing Team - 29 points
2. Team Malizia - 25
3. Biotherm - 19
4. Team Holcim-PRB - 17
5. Guyot environnement-Team Europe - 10

The VO65 first arrived in the race field on this last day of the Grand Final in Genoa, with low winds of 3 to 6 knots

As time ran towards the exit gunshot, the five teams arrived late to the line. Considering that an extra meter at the exit can become hundreds of meters of advantage later, they all lost a good chance to get ahead.

The Mirpuri / Trifork Racing Team (DEN / POR) sought a solid and secure position at the edge of the line and accelerated very well.

The WindWhisper Racing Team (POL) seemed to dominate the end of the line, but this time the patron Pablo Arrarte was defeated by Team JAJO (NED). Jelmer van Beek seemed vulnerable initially, but he had the advantage of being the most sotavent ship, which allowed van Beek to fall a couple of degrees, injecting more power into the candles on a day when each small advantage was vital.

Team JAJO began to stretch its initial advantage. The Dutch led the first beacon, followed by the Mirpuri / Trifork Racing Team, whose way out to barlovento worked well with Roberto Bermudez de Castro and his crew.

The next to pass was the Austrian Ocean Racing / Team Genova, but by finding a streak of wind behind them, Viva Mexico took advantage of a deeper corner of girth to sneak right into the next beacon.

3. Mirpuri / Trifork Racing Team - 12
4. Viva Mexico - 10
