The Elena Nova won in ORC 0-1 MSC; the Maverta-Defcom Security, in ORC 2 Mercedes-Benz Valdisa; the L'Immens-La Plaza Assessors, in ORC 3 Varadero Valencia in ORC3; the Enewtec in ORC4, in J80 Royal Bliss; the Davincy in Open Musto; and the Newkote Promotion UPV (Photo Maria Muíña)

The twenty-fourth edition of the La Reina Trophy ended in Chés waters, in which the Spanish Navy was honoured, in which the Copa Marcial Sánchez Barcaiztegui, the unforgettable admiral, was held.

In this edition 2023, in the class ORC 0-1 MSC the victory was for Elena Nova. In class ORC 2 Mercedes-Benz Valdisa was imposed Maverta- Defcom Security. The L'Immens-La Plaza Assessors won in ORC 3 Varadero Valencia; in ORC4 the best was the Enewtec del Nautico la Isleta. The Asosiados that competed for the Nautico of Valencia and the Arrecife of Lanzarote, was awarded the victory in J80 Royal Bliss. In Open Musto, the ship Davincy finished the final leader of the classification... and in Promotion UPV, the triumph was for the Newkote.

We must highlight the very high level of the class ORC 0-1, in which 5 Swan (42, 45 and 50), the 52 Aifos with Jaime Rodríguez Touges to the cane and the Puerto Rican Blue Carbon; the DK46 Mercedes and Urbania... as well as the Frers 45 Varadero Valencia... 10 units of authentic Champions!.

The classes 2 and 3 of ORC were also powerful: perhaps some veteran ships in the 2 with units First 40.7, the IMX and the Rodman 42 that was erected in the winner.

A total of 14 ships in class 3 with some veteran ship and gold for the L'Immens of Barcelona, a competitive and modernized Synergy 40. With regard to Class 4, an amateur cutting class, with no competitive level and nothing remarkable...

We were surprised by the communicative triumphalism of Class 4... to the detriment of the first-division truth classes... a category like the ORC4... in which only amateur local cutting ships, Tom28 included... were involved... that can be considered to the dessert school ships... and more with a victory of a cruise-first 34.7 model cruise, followed by an Italy 9.8 and another Beneteau non-regatta. To take this ship out of context, which we do not doubt has much merit and must be applauded... but to sell it as the winner of the world, it seems to me simply not to adjust to the reality of what happened in the race field, and to give a distorted image of the true actors of sporting prestige of the event, which there were and not a few.

The fleet was completed... excellent in general terms, with 30 ships in the non-competitive classes, as its name indicates: Open and Promotion... and a dozen J80 monotypes... that contributed to give a great atmosphere to the reference event of the Royal Nautical Club of Valencia.

Thus the respective classifications remained, in this twenty-fourth edition, in which the most remarkable race among those organized each season by the Royal Nautical Club of Valencia... managed to gather more than a hundred ships from several countries... in a historic edition.

2023-07-01: Elena Nova a step away from being the winner of the Queen's Trophy in Valencia

With Elena Nova clearly in the head, the Sunday day that will close the SM Trophy the Queen, is interesting to know who will be the companion of the German ship on the podium, and that takes eight points to the Tenaz, which is the second. The last day of the La Reina Trophy is exciting in the class MSC ORC 0-1 where except the Swan42 Elena Nova of the German Christian Plump, which if nothing extraordinary happens will be the winner; the struggle focuses on the other two squares of the podium to which up to four teams aspire, the Swan50 Tenaz of Pablo Garonga, which is second, the DK46 Mercedes-Benz Valdisa of Álvaro Fernández Candau, which is third. And from there on the Aifos, Urbania and Porron X.

In the first test of the day, the third of the global, Elena Nova has been the dominant, although the Mercedes-Benz Valdisa has not made it easy. The ship that Luis Martínez Dureste owns has ended in second position and seemed to be on the podium. The Swan42 Porron X of Luis Senís, was ostensibly improving with respect to the first day and was third.

The second test would eventually become the discard for the Mercedes-Benz Valdisa. After a complicated departure, Martínez Dureste's ship was far behind its rivals and although it would win positions in real time, it did not give it to reach any of the ships in compensation and it marked a tenth. Elena Nova was following her, a victory, followed by Porron X and Urbania.

Already in the last sleeve and with a strong wind, disparate results would return, with a surprising victory of the Blue Carbon, the Elena Nova was second and third the Tenaz.
