The Taxus Medio Ambiente of the Club Bahia de Gijón, by Alfredo Flórez, was proclaimed in vizcaina waters, the absolute winner of the Costa Vasca Regata, and was consequently made with the Golden Whale.

The Asturian crew was the best in the three days of which the thirty-seventh edition of the classical Basque... The Silver Whale was received by another Asturian ship, the Bulbox of Sebastiano Napoli, of Port and Ria of Avilés, while the Bronze Whale of the third classified was for the Thelonious Vizcino of Jon Garai.

The closing course in the Regata class, with only eight miles, was won for the third consecutive day by the Taxus Medio Ambiente de Gijón. In the general, he was followed by the Bullbox also in the asturian, with the Akelarre of Mauricio Guibert, third in this class and award to the boat with the most female crew... fourth finished the Alpega of Alfonso Churruca, fifth the Despeinado of Carlos Maidagan, sixth the Symphony of Javier Onaindia, seventh the Maitena of Mikel Emaldi, eighth the Rat Pack of Javier Miguvarri and ninth the Kenex of Ignacio Giménez.

On the other hand, Jon Garai's Thelonious Vizcain pointed out this last tour after a little more than an hour and a half of navigation and consolidated his leadership in the Cruise class I to take one of the precious whales.

He was followed in the general at three points by the Go Blue Cantabre of Angel Herrera. The Andarax Bi of Josu Portularme, the Kribi of Juanma Pereiro, the Lalanda Handia of Xabier Mendiguren and the Turi of Simon Cortés were then classified.

The Costa Vasca-Golden Whale Trophy regatta completed its second stage between Getxo-Bermeo and back to the exit town, 35 miles with good north-west wind from 15 to 20 knots as the first day, so this edition of one of the most outstanding tests in the Cantabrian Sea is proving fantastic to navigate. After the second race, the Bahia de Gijón Club's Taxus Environment is still the leader and main candidate for the final victory to get the precious Golden Whale.

Alfredo Flórez's Environment Taxus also won the second 35-mile (4 hours and 23 minutes) test, with the Asturian Bullbox in the second position, 7 minutes after the corrected time, and the Alpega of Alfonso Churuca third. The Taxus Medio Ambiente is first in general, with the Bullbox second and the Symphony of Javier Onaindia third.

Fourth in the Regata class is the Maitena, fifth the Alpega, sixth the Akelarre, seventh the Despeinado and eighth the Rat Pack. At Cruise I is first the Thelonious of Jon Garai, after winning the second stage after almost 5 hours of navigation. Second is the Go Blue of Angel Herrerías and third tied the Andarax Bi and the Kribi.

The Costa Vasca Regata - The Golden Whale Trophy is celebrated on this occasion in the waters of Bizkaia, with those of Getxo as protagonists as the departure and arrival of the three tests. This Sunday, from 12: 00, a couple of barloventos-sotavento are planned in the peach waters of the Abra. The Golden Whale awaits this year's winners in Getxo, in a Royal Maritime Club of the Abra-Real Sporting Club that commemorates its 125th anniversary.

The Maitena vizcadino of Mikel Emaldi was the first in real time to reach Plentzia and also to the line of arrival in Las Arenas after completing a 14-mile coastal tour, where Taxus Medio Ambiente de Alfredo Florez second to 8 minutes in real time and third the Bullbox also Asturian of Sebastiano Napoli, of Port and Ria of Avilés.
