The race is notable for the championship of Catalunya de Altura Solitarios and A2, as well as for the Circuit of High Regades. The participation is open to these categories and also to the Training category, for school or charter ships and the Promotion category, for ships that do not have an official ORC rating certificate

The Nautical Club El Balís will be the port of beginning, heading for the Nautical Club of l'Escala.... The total 54 miles will start on July 7 from the spectacular Maresme Sports Port.

The second stage will be a L'Escala-Islas Medas-L'Escala tour, with a 14-mile tour that will take place on Saturday, July 8, at 2 in the afternoon.

The final classifications of La Ruta de la Tramuntana in this new format are established from combining the results of the two stages, giving greater weight to the long race against the short one to unmake possible points.

The race is sponsored by the Patronat de Turisme de la Costa Brava for the promotion of nautical tourism, as well as from Trasmed, Repsol, Ausmar and Nautivela. Ports de la Generalitat la Asociació de Ports Esportius i Turistics de Catalunya as well as the Nàutic Català Cluster also collaborate with the event.
