Caronte of the Royal Nautical Club of Barcelona winner of the Alfonso XIII Trophy

Caronte and Kajsa have proclaimed themselves winners, in the Alfonso XIII Trophy and in the Port of Mahon Trophy, respectively... in the twenty-third edition, which they organized the Royal Nautical Club of Barcelona and the Mahon Maritime Club.

He started the expected Alfonso XIII Trophy with the departure of 31 ships to cover the more than 140 nautical miles that separate Barcelona from Mahon... the Gymir reached the archipelago after a navigation of 17 hours and 58 minutes, being the winner in real time.

In time the victory was made up for the Caronte de Carlos Comas of the Royal Nautical Cub of Barcelona, followed by the Blue Rocket of Jordi Brufau and the Diabolic of Glenn of Brouwer of the Torredembarra Maritime Club.

The best of each of the classes were in ORC 0-2 Caronte, Blue Rocket and Phoenix Limit of Xaviwe Peus of the Sailing Club Badalona; in ORC 3-5 first place for Rapera of Martina Bernabal, second L'Oreig of Martó Gelabert and third the legendary Lone II of Port s'Aro.

In ORC A2 The first squares for Diabolic, ahead of the Enigma of Luis Tort of the Nautico of Barcelona and the Caliope of Thierry D'Argoubet, of the Nàutic of Sant Feliu.

Tomorrow at 12: 00 in the morning, organized jointly by the Real Club Náutico de Barcelona and the Club Marítimo de Mahón, the exit will be given to the twenty-fourth edition of the high race that unites Barcelona and Mahón. A 135-mile test without a pre-established route, being able to navigate around the island on its south side, or on the north and east side. This race is notable for the Spanish High Championship and the Catalunya High Championship.

Once the boats have arrived and after a day of rest, the Port of Mahon Regata will be held on Sunday, to which seven ships from the local fleet of Mahon will be joined.

The 7-mile tour will start in front of the Naval Base, to leave it until you turn a beacon and return inside, ending in front of the Maritime Club. Both races score independently, without a classification that embraces them.

The race, which is expected to be quite fast, will have all the ORC categories, divided into ORC 0-1-2 and ORC 3-4-5, and following the strategy of the Real Club Náutico de Barcelona to encourage the ORC A Two category, in preparation for the World Championship of ORC A2 to be held from 9 to 15 September, the Menorca Sant Joan race will have six units in this category during this edition.
