This weekend, the XXV Isastur- University of Oviedo Cruise Regata, VI Memorial Daniel Ponte, was held in Gijón, under the organization of the Real Club Astur de Regatas and the University of Oviedo.

The two scheduled sleeves were held, one per day, with a very different weather. While on Saturday the wind blew strong from the north-east with 24-kt tips and sea of wind with bordregillos, on Sunday with a flat sea, the wind rolled to the north-west loose in intensity, so much so that several ships of class 2 and none of class 3 could finish the race before their time limit.

The Bullbox, by Luis Noguera, was the best in the fleet, after winning the manga of Sunday and finishing second the Saturday test, was raised with the triumph for the second consecutive year. The second square was for the GS1, by Fernando Alonso, who would win the race on Saturday and ended in third position on Sunday. The third place in the general was obtained by the Taxus Medio Ambiente, by Alfredo Flórez with a third and a second in his locker.

The University of Oviedo- Grupo Isastur, patronized by Roberto Álvarez Bucetas, repeats the triumph achieved in the last edition in class II, the university ship would first end in the two magas. The second place in the general was for the Jarr, by Luis Llano, second in the two days. The Mambo, by José Enrique García, closed the group's honorary posts.

In Class III, he only scored the manga on Saturday, as on Sunday no class III ship finished the race before the time limit. El Espumeru, by Alberto Tablón belonging to the Civil Navy School, once again won the victory, followed by the Silfo, José Ángel García and the Najwa, by Juan Morís.

Organized by the Real Club Astur de Regatas and the University of Oviedo, this weekend will be held in Gijón, the twenty-fifth edition of the Isastur- University of Oviedo Regata, which for the sixth time has the trophy in memory of Daniel Ponte.

Next Saturday at the edge of the three and a half in the afternoon, in the waters of the Bay of San Lorenzo, will be given the signal of attention to the first manga of the trophy, a barlovento-sotavento tour of between 1 and 2 miles per stretch, depending on the wind and in the opinion of the committee. On Sunday the second test will begin at one in the afternoon, to cover a layout of similar characteristics.

Once the registration period is closed, three classes will be established, with an individual classification and another joint general, so there will be an absolute winner in the competition. The bulk of the Gijonese fleet is expected to be present in one of the most traditional races in the Principality of Asturias.

The boat to be beaten will be the BullBox, by Luis Noguera the absolute winner in the last edition.
