The Gaditano de Optimist organized by the Real Club Marítimo Sotogrande al socaire del Puerto Sotogrande has brought together more than 70 young participants from several clubs in Costa del Sol and Bahía de Algeciras
The Gaditano of Optimist was held in the waters of Sotogrande organized by the Real Club Marítimo Sotogrande... the competition has brought together 70 young regatists from the provinces of Cadiz and Málaga willing to demonstrate their skill in the water. In addition, the Andalusian Federation of Vela and the City Council of San Roque have also been involved.
This sports event where more than 70 regatists have participated, began on Saturday at one o'clock with the departure of the races and was extended until Sunday at noon, when the trophies were delivered and where the participants, family and lovers of the sailing sport, enjoyed a few days with an enviable weather.
After two days with three daily tests, the winners in the category Sub 16 male were Felipe Pachón Pérez making gold, Carlete Gómez de Arce silver and Leo Zabell White bronze, all of them from the Benalmádena Maritime Nautical Club. In the category Sub 16 female, the winner was Blanca López López and in second position, Encarnación González Alijo, both of the Club Nautico Marítimo de Benalmádena. Blanca Morales Pérez of the Royal Mediterranean Club completed this podium.
In the category Sub 13 male, Miguel Jiménez Salido of the Royal Nautical Club of La Línea was first and Jacobo Moreno Llopis of the Royal Club the second Candidate and Luis Laza Heredia of the Real Club Mediterranean occupied the second and third square. In the category Sub 13 female, the first position was for Rebeca Sánchez Anton of the Royal Mediterranean Club, followed by Daria Arlova Dudko of the Nautical Maritime Club of Benalmádena and Paula Cabrera of the Real Nautical Club of Algeciras.
In the category Sub 11 male, José de Linares Sánchez del Real Club el Candado took the victory, followed by Pablo Martín Bravo of the Real Club Mediterranean and Raúl Gutiérrez of the Real Club Nautico de Algeciras. In the category Sub 11 female, the podium was completed with the Marina del Río Saiz gold of the Benalmádena Maritime Nautical Club, the silver for Jimena Lozano Pérez and the bornce for Rebecca Madrid Galán, both of the Royal Nautical Club of La Línea.
