When the twenty-seventh edition of the TabarcaVela is a month away from the beginning, there are already more than half a hundred ships registered in the reference race of the Real Club de Regatas de Alicante.

On Friday and Sunday all the classes will play the traditional barlovento-sotavento and on Saturday the ships of the ORC divisions will make the classic coastal race turning to the island of Tabarca.

If in the 2022 edition a new course was given, in this year's edition to be held from 13 to 16 July, the qualitative and quantitative leap is already beginning to be noticed, the race will have in this edition nine categories: ORC 0-1, ORC 2, ORC 3, ORC 4, ORC 5, City & Beach, Promo Club, Dragon and J80.

In the division of the largest ships, the 0-1 ORC, competitiveness will be important with the arrival of the DK46 HM Hospitales-Hydra, a ship that have demonstrated its potential over the last decade, as the most laureate in the King's Cup. As well as those of the Swan class as the April Fish, which is a fixed in the TabarcaVela, and this year he returns to Alicante after his absence in 2022, coinciding in dates with the Swan World Cup, held in Valencia.

In ORC 2, the intro is more than ten units, where the Maverta, is another major, among a fleet arrived from clubs throughout the Valencia Community, from Castellón, Valencia and Alicante. As well as the Seabury Dralion, arrived from Seville.

As for the monotypes classes this year there will be two great novelties, on the one hand we will continue to bet on the female sailing where the fleet will sail by invitation in the City & Beach class in the J22 of the RCRA with teams coming from different points of Spain such as the Dorsia Covirán and City & Beach of Alicante, Code Zero of Lanzarote, Sailing in Women of Baiona.

As well as the Dragon class, which enters with force with four ships of the Plis Play saga, of the Alicantino shipowner Vicente García, as well as the Aurum and Capa baleares.

For the moment there are registered ships from Andalusia, Balearic Islands, Canary Islands, Catalonia, Comunitat Valenciana, Galicia and the Murcia Region. In addition to Spanish the TabarcaVela will have international participation with ships with a flag of Finland, Great Britain and the Netherlands.
