The Ocean Race: Guyot environnement-Team Europe wins in In-Port The Hague

The popular IMOCA class team achieves an excellent first victory in the In-Port race of The Hague
The Hague has provided the best regatta conditions of the IMOCA fleet in the current edition of The Ocean Race. A radiant light and an imposing wind, approaching 20 knots, made the In-Port Race regatta have excellent conditions for the ships to foyer at full speed.
The Guyot environnement-Team Europe by Benjamin Dutreux reached the starting line at full speed, flying over the foils, sailing just above Team Holcim-PRB and the 11th Hour Racing Team.
With the flying IMOCA jumping out of the water on their foils and the regatists just to the limit of the ship's control, the first beacon arrived in an instant. At first it seemed that Dutreux could not hold the lead, but he mounted the beacon just a few seconds ahead of the 11th Hour Racing Team.
The Malizia Team of Boris Herrmann passed very close and transfered immediately, advancing the 11th Hour Racing Team inside.
Meanwhile, Dutreux consolidated his advantage in the first round of the tour.
The 11th Hour Racing Team by Charlie Enright was able to recover second place to the detriment of the Malizia just before the end of this first round, while the Biotherm and Team Holcim-PRB exchanged their positions later.
In the second round of the tour, slightly elongated by the strong winds, Paul Meilhat's Biotherm began to tighten, removing the disadvantage to Team Malizia and pressing the German team, but Boris Herrmann and his crew were able to maintain the position.
During the rest of the second round, Benjamin Dutreux and his crew made an impeccable race with challenging conditions to win their first victory in The Ocean Race.
After his emotional return to Aarhus after displanting in the previous stage, this result has been very well received between the Ocean Race family and the race fans, a just reward for a team that has demonstrated a remarkable resistance to reach the exit line again and again after suffering numerous setbacks.
The second place achieved by the 11th Hour Racing Team by Charlie Enright places it in a very solid position in the classification of the In-Port races. The American team thus gains added comfort for the last stage of The Ocean Race, as the classification of the In-Port Series acts as a debugging mechanism for the general classification of the race.
Team Malizia overcame Biotherm in his third place duel, leaving Team Holcim-PRB fifth, a disappointing result for Benjamin Schwartz and his team, after a good start.
It is now the turn for the In-Port de los VO65 race, which starts at 17: 40 on Wednesday local time in The Hague, with similar conditions according to the part.
