Jorge Villanueva (MRCY Baiona) and Javier Rasilla (RCN Vigo) have won the Snipe-class Youth Galician Championship on Sunday, organized by the Royal Nautical Club of Vigo during the weekend in the waters of the Viguese era.
In two days with the program of regats completed (three per day), Villanueva and Rasilla secured the title in the last of the six races, with a second position in front of the sixth position achieved in the manga by Carlos Bermudez de Castro (Mariña Coruña) and César Herrero (RCN Coruña).
To this final test came both ships tied to 8 net points, because the leaders of both days, Mariano Stinga (RCN Arrecife) and José Baamonde (MRCY Baiona), were not eligible for the autonomous title: the one that sails with a license from another federation.
With a fleet of nine ships registered and finally eight in the water, the regatists of Monte Real and Nautico signed an optimal series (1-2-3-2- [4] -2), with 10 net points when dismissing their fourth square from the penultimate race. Bermudez de Castro and Herrero would end up with 12 points (4-1-2-3-2- [6]). He penalized them to end up off the podium posts in two races.
Stinga and Baamonde, despite sailing out of competition, ended up with a large series (2- [3] -1-3-1) and 8 net points, demonstrating their quality.
