Splendid last day for the third event of the Iberdrola League of Women's Vela that took place this weekend in the waters of the San Juan reservoir under the organization of the Real Club Náutico de Madrid. After a tight end, the win was for the Dorsia Covirán, accompanied on the podium by Mount Real Club de Yates and the Altea Nautical Club.
The beginning of today's Sunday races had to wait at the wind entrance. Once he made himself feel in the swamp, he gave perfect conditions both to finish the qualifying series and to fight a Medal Race match. It was the crews of the Dorsia Covirán, Monte Real Club de Yates, Club Náutico Arenal, Club Náutico Altea and Real Club Náutico Calpe that were classified, in this same order, to compete in the great final race of double score.
With a fourth place in the Medal for the girls of the Dorsia Covirán (Nuria Sánchez, María Torcida, María Peñarrubia, Mari Carmen Fernández and María Garrido) and a fifth for those of the Monte Real (Rosalía Martínez, Iria Núñez, Sara Baamonte, Aitana Pérez and María Benthem), the mattress of points harvested by both crews during the first day kept them in front of the classification. The victory in the general was for the pliers of the Dorsia Covirán and the second place for the galleries of the MRCY.
The Altea Nautical Club team, which today had closed the qualifying round with two first, rounded its performance in the swamp by imposing on the Medal Race. This impeccable final sprint raised the crew of Gracia Suárez, María Ronda, María Pomares, Cristina Márquez and Alejandra Martínez to the third step of the podium. The Arenal Nautical Club, led by Aina Jordi, and the Royal Calpe Nautical Club, with Sarah Moreau as the patron, close the Top5 of the Madrid test.
After running two wins on the circuit, Getxo and Madrid, the Dorsia Covirán remains at the forefront of the general ranking of the Iberdrola League of Women's Vela.
The test held in the San Juan reservoir was closed with the delivery of trophies attended by Javier Sanz, president of the Real Federación Española de Vela; Guillermo Poyán, president of the Federación Madricala de Vela; José María Martín Puertas, vice president of the Federación Madricala de Vela; Mercedes Zarzalejo, outgoing mayor of Ayto. de San Martín de ValdeIglesias; Cristóbal Carrasco, president of the RCN Madrid; and David Peralta, Commodore RCN Madrid.
After the Madrid event, the circuit will be completed with the Arenal CN test (9-10 September), and will conclude with the great final that will take place in the Alicante RCR between 20 and 22 October. The Iberdrola League is also a Spanish Women's Vela Championship.
The Iberdrola de Vela Feminina League is organized by the Real Federación Española de Vela, Real Club Náutico Calpe, Real Club Marítimo del Abra-Real Sporting Club, Real Club Náutico Madrid, Club Náutico Arenal and Real Club de Regatas Alicante with the collaboration of the Autonomous Federations to which the clubs belong. For the occasion, the Real Club Náutico de Madrid has had the collaboration of the Community of Madrid through the Subdirection General of Sports Management, and the City Council of San Martín de ValdeIglesias.

The third meeting of the Iberdrola League of Women's Vela has started today in the San Juan swamp, under the organization of the Real Club Náutico de Madrid, with a long day in which eight tests have been held after which the Dorsia Covirán is at the head of the provisional classification.
The team of the Monte Real Club de Yates de Baiona that joins the participants in the Iberdrola League, has premiered by hitting hard. The crew of Rosalía Martínez, Iria Núñez, Sara Baamonte and Aitana Pérez today have shown much regularity in their results, all of them of podium, and is placed less than one point of the leader. The pliers of the Dorsia Covirán, with Nuria Sánchez, María Torcida, Marta Peñarrubia, Mari Carmen Fernández and Marta Garrido, have today joined four wins, three seconds and a third.

With the organization of the Real Club Náutico de Madrid, the San Juan swamp receives this weekend the seven crews participating in the third event of the Iberdrola de Vela Feminina League, the equator of the circuit with a double challenge: to navigate in the 747 monotypes and to do so in inland waters.
The Dorsia Covirán, which was raised with the leadership of the League general in the last day in the Abra head the inscriptions of the Madrid test. The crew of the CN Altea will certainly take advantage of the absence of the RCN Palma Baleària Team to undo the tie between its fourth and the third of the Majorcan.

Except for the girls of the Madrid Nautico who sail at home, the athletes will face two challenges this weekend. The first of them is the new boat: the 747 OD monotype provided by the organizing club, very similar to the First 7.5 but cabined.
The second challenge will be the race field of the Iberdrola League that on this occasion changes the stage. From the more or less open waters of the sea it is settled in the Pantano of San Juan. Surrounded by relatively high walls, its prevailing conditions are of wind of North or South component. The main difference is that the wind streak enters slowly, like a wave, so that it significantly favors the ships that first reaches.
After today's training day, the competition will start tomorrow Saturday and will continue until Sunday, when the Medal Race will be held that will decide the winners of the third event of the Iberdrola League of Women's Sailing.
