The Navalia Executive Committee this morning has known all the details of the second edition of Navalia Meeting, which this year will be held in Las Palmas de Gran Canarias from 20 to 22 September 2023. On this occasion, the meeting of the work team of the fair was attended by Germán Suárez, CEO Astican, who is also the founding company of the Maritime Cluster of the Canary Islands and who holds the presidency of it. It should be recalled that the interest shown from Las Palmas was constant since 2021 and that is why the organization decided to move this second edition to the island. In this sense, the Cabildo de Gran Canaria will promote the new meeting, co-organized by Infecar Feria de Gran Canaria and Show it (Navalia organizing company) with the support of the Marine Cluster of the Canary Islands and the Canary Federation of Harbour Companies.

The International Meeting of Naval Construction, Navalia Meeting, will take place mainly in Infecte Feria de Gran Canaria. Four major thematic areas are planned for the round tables, which will have more than 20 speakers, and will discuss the situation of the oil & repair market, the Spanish naval sector from the regional prism, the future of the military naval industry in Spain and the marine wind.

On the other hand, Navalia Meeting will again award two awards to the Professional Trayectoria in the naval sector that will be delivered during a gala dinner at the Poema del Mar Aquarium thanks to the collaboration of the Ports de Las Palmas Foundation. "We have only words of thanks to all the administrations and institutions that are turning around with the celebration of this second edition of Navalia Meeting," said Arnau, who also advanced that in a few weeks the final program will be available with all the rapporteurs, schedules, social program, accommodation options and flights from the peninsula.

Also during the Executive Committee meeting, Arnau advanced the occupation data to almost just one year of the ninth International Naval Industry Fair, which will take place on the Vigo from 21 to 23 May 2024. With regard to the level of occupation, the central pavilions of the 1 and 2 fairground are already complete. The fair, which on this occasion will expand its exhibition by 8,000 m2, to occupy four pavilions of the Feral Institute of Vigo, continues to work in the international presence and has held various meetings with the embassies of Canada and Germany during the month of April.

The meeting also addressed the incorporation of the marine wind into the Navalia project, taking advantage of the presence of the Astican CEO on this Executive Committee. And it is that the Canary Islands, like Galicia, has great wind potential that must be exploited in the coming years. In this sense, Navalia 2024 will prepare an exhibition area that reflects the potential of the marine wind for Spain, also adding presentations and round tables in its Technical Days Programme

Finally, Javier Arnau reported that Navalia has become part of the Royal Spanish Naval League, being the first fair to join this centenary institution as an institutional partner. Both institutions are already working on future activities to promote the maritime world and its protection, to make them coincide with the week of Navalia 2024.
