In April, a collaboration and sponsorship agreement was signed in Barcelona between the national class of J70 monotypes and the American brand specializing in electronic devices for the whole year 2023.

From the Association of Owners of J70 in Spain there is the purpose to enhance this monotype throughout the country and is the organizing entity of two important competitions of national level such as the Spanish Cup, which will hold its first edition this year in the waters of the Catalan capital and under the auspices of the Royal Nautical Club of Barcelona, from 19 to 21 May. The next scheduled event is the Spanish Championship that will take place on the island of La Toja (Galicia) from June 16 to 18. After these two dates, the national ranking will be set up and from there will be known the teams that will be able to represent Spain in the next World Championship to be held in Palma de Mallorca in September 2024. It is important to note that, although it is a joint classification between the two competitions, the Championship puts 60% and the Cup 40%.

The Garmin brand is native to the United States and was founded in 1989 by Gary Burrell and Min Kao, whose names combined to create the company's name. Garmin is dedicated to the manufacture of electronic navigation devices, including GPS systems (Global Positioning System) for cars, aircraft, ships and portable devices as a wide range of very widespread smartboards in many sports. Precisely for water sports, it has a well-known watch called Garmin Quatix that is configured with the main applications for water sports such as sailing.

The American brand, Garmin, has revolutionized the lives of racers, cyclists, swimmers and athletes of all levels and skills. In this regard, it is committed to the development of technology that helps people to stay active and improve their performance. One of the areas in which it plays a key role is the nautical segment, in which it has launched several products to facilitate navigation. One of them will be the official J / 70: quatix ® 7 - Standard Edition clock; a device that allows comprehensive connectivity with Garmin plotters and other devices to obtain automatic pilot control, data transmission, Fusion-Link ™ player control, new fonting alerts and tidal alerts, among others.

Garmin and J70 are excellent companions on this new journey who will sail together. The electronics brand is perfectly integrated into the nautical sector and this new action will help to further strengthen the brand presence between the regateas and the world of high sailing competition. The award of national ranking trophies will take place during the next King's Cup in early August at the facilities of the Real Club Nautico de Palma and from here we invite all readers to attend the event.
