The Andalusian regatist has been third in the final quarter race, making its position in the general move from the fourth to the sixth square

The Andalusian Pilar Lamadrid has finished its participation in the iQFOiL European Championship in sixth position after competing today in the final rooms. Lamadrid was ranked in the fourth position of the final phase, which resulted in his participation in the Medal Series. In today's first race, the quarter finals, Lamadrid finished third, resulting in the sixth final position.

A wind of more than 25 knots, with points reaching 40, forced to delay more than three hours the start of the last European day of the new Olympic windsurfing mode. Finally, after 14: 30 (Spanish time) the female fleet went out to fight the quarter finals, in which Pilar Lamadrid left as one of the favorites to get the pass to the semifinal.

The strong wind and the instability of it made the race complicated for all the athletes and although Pilar Lamadrid got a good start, half the test saw how two of his opponents were distancing. In these final rooms only the first two classified in the race got the pass to the semifinals, so the third Lamadrid square was not enough to advance in the Medal Series.

The iQFOiL European Championship that has been held in Patras, Greece, has ended today, Sunday 14, after six days of competition. In addition to the sixth general position of Lamadrid, Spain has achieved the male victory in Sub21, with the gold of Nacho Baltasar, and the bronze in this same category, from the hand of Bernat Tomás.

After competing in three consecutive days with more than 25 knots, today the iQFOiL fleet gathered in Patras, Greece, has faced light and unstable wind conditions. The Committee, hastening the day until sunset, has managed to close 4 sleeves of Sprint Slalom for the gold fleets. With these new tests, Pilar Lamadrid sits in the third female position of the European Championship of this new Olympic modality. In addition, Bernat Tomás continues to lead the European Sub21 table.

The deferral flag has been raised all morning and until after 15: 30 hours the first exit of the Sprint Slalom has not been given, sleeves of a duration of less than five minutes and without any ties. Even so, the postponements at sea have been repeated because of the wind that was not yet in place.

Although the conditions have been diametrically opposed to those that have been experienced in the first three days of competition, Pilar Lamadrid has been perfectly adapted and has managed to stay on the provisional podium, in the third position of the female iQFOiL.

Less successful has been Nicole van der Velden, who today has gone down to the nineteenth position, moving away from the Top10 that on Sunday will compete in the Medal Series. For its part, Andrea Torres closes the day at position 51 and Julia Gómez at 72.

In the male fleet, Nacho Baltasar has again taken a step forward: he has placed himself at 23 of the general and is consolidated as the best European Sub21, putting 63 points through with Italian Manolo Modena, second. The day has also been taken by the Balar Bernat Tomás, who recovers the third European position Sub21 and occupies 37 of the general position. In addition, Tomás Vieito is 34th and Jorge Aranzueque 48th.

Tomorrow, the final day of the final phase of the iQFOiL European Championship will be held to decide the 10 best male and female regatists to participate in the Sunday Medal Series.
