Between January and April of this year, 1,891 recreational boats have been registered in Spain compared with 1,688 in the same period of 2022. The beginning of the nautical season 2023 shows a growth of 12% of the nautical market, based on the registration of small boats (up to 6 meters) and of ships destined for the nautical charter whose enrolments grow by 22% in the year.

Of the total number of vessels registered until April of this year, 1,222 (65%) are for private use and 669 (35%) are for vessels for the nautical charter.

With the exception of small-length (up to 6 metres) vessels with a 21.7% increase in enrolment in the first four months of this year, the remaining segments fall from the same period of 2022.

By type of vessel
The trend is consistent with the length of the data, with the folding pneumatic vessels (50.5%) and the water bikes (43%) supporting the increase in enrolment. In this period, motor ships have better behaviour with an aumeto of 4.5% of enrollments.

In the first two months of 2023, Andalusia (21%), followed by Catalonia (19%) and the Balearic Islands (17.5%), remain as the Autonomous Communities with the highest weight on the nautical market.

In the charter market, the Balearic Islands remain in the first position with 30% share, followed by Catalonia (21%) and the Valencia Community (15%).
