The Providenza de Ergin Imre is the first leader of the 52 Super Series 2023... the 52 patronized by John Cutler was proclaimed champion of the inaugural event of the season, the Saint- Tropez Sailing Week, based on its regularity.

After a blank day due to the absence of wind, the fleet of eleven teams that competed for the historic first event in French waters, was able to say goodbye to Saint- Tropez with two exciting final sleeves in difficult conditions: 5 to 8 knots of unstable wind. With the first three classified tablets in just two points and at least three with mathematical options to enter the fight for the title, everything was decided on the last sleeve. The circuit debut at the Bay of Saint- Tropez was completed with the celebration of eight of the ten scheduled tests.

Phoenix takes out the thorn
The first of the day served the Phoenix to partially repair its most discreet event since the end of 2019, when the South African team finished ninth in Mahon. Despite the late crossing of the exit line, the tactical Santi Lange was right when he quickly pointed his bow to the right of the field and delayed without looking back to his expected first victory of the season. Platoon was second and Sled third. The fifth position of Quantum Racing powered by American Magic allowed the American team to take away the provisional lead in the debugging of the Turkish Protenzza, seventh in this test.

Completed the first event of the five that make up the 52 Super Series 2023, the fleet will set out to Italy to celebrate the Scarlino Sailing Week from May 29 to June 3.

2023-05-06: The lack of wind defuses the emotion of the 52 to the last day in Saint-Tropez

The fourth day of competition in Saint- Tropez Sailing Week was closed blank... the wind that led to the show the day before decided to take a break, leaving the lockers unchanged and with Provizza at the head of the provisional for the minimum over Alegre... the first event of the 2023 season of the 52 Super Series will be resolved with a final to two rounds

2023-05-05: 52 Super Series... Provides to the front in Saint-Tropez

Crossing the equator of the 52 Super Series Saint- Tropez Sailing Week, the fight for the first title of the season is increasing. The 52 Super Series Saint- Tropez Sailing Week changed the pace with a day of spectacular conditions for the TP52 competition. The fleet found intensities of 14-15 knots in the first sleeve and 17-18 knots in the second, a factor that would agitate the classification after two days of softer breezes. The eleven TP52 returned to the ground with six partials in their locker after three days and a compressed provisional showing the first three classified in only two points.

The first test of the day served Takashi Okura's American Sled to confirm that he still knows how to win. After a discreet start of the week (8 + 7 + 9), the world champion and the 52 Super Series in 2021 fired the second day with a good second and started the third with a well-deserved victory that allowed him to stay alive in the battle for the first title of the season.

In the second manga, Quantum Racing powered by American Magic again showed its quality despite the absence of its usual hard core and the renewal of much of its crew. By the hand of the new timonel Harry Melges, the new tactic John Kostecki and the new navigator Victor Díaz de León, the American team came out from the middle of the line and was able to climb to the top in the crucial first step by buoy, a position that would only endanger a very fast Alegre in the final meters. Just five seconds they separated both on a final photo arrival. Third finished Tony Langley's Gladiator.

2023-05-04: Interlodge holds the 52's lead, with Provizza standing on his heels

The second day in Saint- Tropez consisted of two tests that compressed the upper part of the classification. Platoon was the best of the day, with a victory and a third that allowed the team in which the Spaniards Jordi Calafat, Víctor Mariño and Javier de la Plaza sail five positions and place themselves at four points of the leader, the American Interlodge... the title defender, Quantum Racing powered by American Magic, achieved its first partial victory in French waters and is placed in the middle of the provisional classification (Photo Nico Martínez)

After hosting the expected premiere of the 2023 season with a ration of light and unstable breezes, the Bay of Saint- Tropez waited for the fleet with an increase in wind intensity for the second day of competition of the 52 Super Series Saint- Tropez Sailing Week.

At the first departure of the day, Platoon was the best positioned, in the middle of the line and with speed, although at the end of the first stretch it would be the local Paprec that was being hung in the passage by buoy. The ship of Harm Müller-Spreer, in which the Spaniards Javier Plaza, Víctor Mariño and Jordi Calafat militated, exceeded that of Jean Luc Petithuguenin in the built-in and was right in his bet on the right side of the field, leading the rest of the tour to achieve his first partial victory of the season. French and British Gladiator would follow him on the finish line.

In the second test, Quantum Racing by American Magic achieved the long-awaited end of the exit on the Committee side, forcing Platoon out. The American team was first looking forward to the fleet, reminding its rivals that despite the discreet start of the championship (6 + 8 + 8), it remains the champion of both the absolute title and the TP52 world title. The ship armed by Doug DeVos would be able to defend itself from Sled's attacks throughout the course until it was imposed on Takashi Okura's for seven seconds at the finish line. Third finished Platoon after a magnificent rallying.

The first official training race of the year was won by the South African Phoenix and Thai Vayu, and served as a fire baptism for the Hongkonese Alpha +, the great novelty of this year.

The Bay of Saint- Tropez hosted the official training race, first of the five events that will make up the 2023 season of the best grand prix circuit of monocascos in the world. The last general trial before the lockers were released consisted of two short, non-measurable tests, with victories of Thai Vayu and South African Phoenix, which this season will feature the Argentine phenomenon Santi Lange as a strategist in replacement of Australian Tom Slingsby.
