María Ferrando, Arthur Baker, Blanca Ferrando and Juan Benassar, winners of Optimist's Spanish Cup in their respective categories

During this weekend, the Copa de España de Optimist, organized by the Ciutadella Nautico Club, took place in Menorcan waters, with a total of 148 optimists, representing ten autonomous communities. During the three days of the championship a total of seven tests were held, five of them framed in the qualifying series and two in the final, with the fleet divided into gold and silver groups for the latter.

Marta Ferrando, of the RCN Valencia, led the female classification in Sub13, followed by Lili María Skomska, RCN Gran Canaria and María de Lluc Bestard, RCN Palma. In the male category, the first ranked was Arthur Baker, CN Javea, with Jorge Benitez, RCN Pto Pollença, and Paco Riveras, RCN Vigo, second and third respectively.

The female podium in Sub16 was formed by Blanca Ferrando, RCN Valencia, Marta Ferrando, RCN Valencia, and Beatriz Quintana, CN Cala Gamba, in first, second and third positions respectively. In the case of the boys, it was Juan Benassar, RCN Palma, Joan Domingo, CN Cambrils, and Iker Múgica, CN Cambrils, who occupied the three drawers of the podium in the same order.
