It was officially presented in Baiona a new edition of the classic Spring Regata of Mount Real Club of Yates, which this year is its forty-fifth edition. It is also the twenty-third that is celebrated as Repsol Trophy, thanks to the collaboration of energy company with the Baion club. And this year, as a novelty, it includes, by delegation of the Royal Spanish Vela Federation, the celebration of one of the citations of the Spanish Sportboat Championship, the one corresponding to the northern area.

In the absence of several days to put on the sign of no more, the list of registered, is in the surroundings of the fifty, which shows the interest of the different fleets of northern Spain and Portugal to participate in this meeting, in which the organization expects more than three hundred regatists to participate.

Saturday will be the first day of competition with a coastal tour from Baiona Bay and will extend to the vicinity of Commud, where the crews will make night waiting to return to Baiona on Sunday.

This inverse journey of the Sunday day, between Commud and Baiona, will be the second punctuable test of the trophy, to which only the two technical tests planned for the day of Monday will remain ahead... the festive of the first of May the different fleets (ORC, J80, Fisbarians) will be seen faces in the anchorage of the Cí Islands.

In the previous edition, the Magical of Julio Rodríguez (RCN Vigo), the Sagar V of Rolando Andrade (Ro Yacht Club), the Secolite of Javier Rey (MRCYB), the Yess of Rui Ramada (MRCYB), the Alboroto of Javier Aguado (MRCYB) and the Bouvento of Oscar José Comesaña will be winners.

The Spring Regatta was created in the late 1970s by the name of Trophy Gloria, who for many years had the unforgettable Gloria Faria as a patron, who left us between surprise and pain, in the midst of youth. Her husband the great José Luis Freire even reactivated her in honor of her memory in the 1990s... as a prior to the Trophy Prince of Asturias, and did so with the sympathy of all, with that of the Board of Directors then presided over by another great... by Rafael Olmedo. The Glory Trophy after the very successful name of General Optica Regata (it became the most important in Spain along with the King's Cup and Nautical Week of El Puerto de Santa María), also took the name in an ephemeral way of Regata Bombay Gin and Regata Mercedes Benz, among others... now for years the Mount Real Club of Yates, has a sponsor of another galaxy... who in the Club sponsored the Repsol Beneteau Cup years ago... and now gives name to Gloria. Congratulations to Mount Real for keeping this legendary quote, in the High Level Calendar and with the support of Repsol, an incomparable example of great multinational company pride of our Spain, all over the world.
