The XXV UPV Trophy of Vela arrives at the Royal Nautical Club of Valencia one more year. Club that organizes with the Universitat Politècnica de València this race in which students and teachers of the university community participate directly, as part of the crews on the registered ships, with the aim of promoting the sport of the sailing between the community.

The race of this weekend, April 22 and 23, is valid for the Orc Autonomous Cup of the Federation of Sailing of the Community, being an additional incentive for the best local fleet, joining the UPV of Sailing.

More than 30 ships are already registered, with much level between the local fleet, which has this race as outstanding and important in its calendar. In the absence of three of the great ones with which the RCNV Cruise fleet counts, case of the Aquarelle 1, M8 Zas Sailing or Majoche, which for maintenance reasons cannot participate, the battle will focus on the 40.7, the UPV being one of the ships to be beaten. The university ship, led by José Antonio Gil, defends the title and has many options to revalidate its trophy.

Gdes-Aerox, from Carles Rosell, another First 40.7, also points to being in podium square. In this line boats such as the Neurored de Ricardo Medem (J99), XCuba de Toni Garcés (X Yacht 41) or the Cokky Shark, led by Miguel Calatayud (Sun Odissey 42 DS) are the ones who will enter the 'big' hairs.

In the middle and promotion class, the range of boats that may be on podium next Sunday is wide, although Pestañeo de Javier Moya (Archambaul 35), Strategos de Kiko Torrent (Half Tonner), Inquiétino-Alhambra de José Vicente Alhambra (Bavaria 38 CR), Radazul de Eduardo Abad (Oceanis 36) or the Sumuru de Ignacio García (First 35S5), have options to stay with the UPV Trophy.

Among those of minor length, Da Vinci of Ignacio Roig (First Class 8) is one of the great favorites. The boat line between 20 and 30 feet includes important units, case of the Rafel Ruíz Tortooga (First 27.7), Ace de Guía, by Javier Aliaga (Jeanneau Sun Fast 26) or the Angel Macebo Tavana (Sun Fast 32.1), to which is added a Sea without Barriers of Joan Tamarit or the Formable Tai of Pilar Ruíz

Two days of competition with two tests for the cruise. On Saturday 22 the fleet will face a coastal tour while, for the Sunday day, the committee plans a technical race, to the wind, with a barlovento-sotavento tour of two dyed and two soups.
