Aina Bauzà plans to cross the Atlantic with its 6.50 ànima Negre

Bauzà is the first woman to shoot when competing alone in high sail. There are still few women we find in the nautical and more in extreme navigations. Of the 90 Mini Transat participants only 1 in 10 are women and only 5 women have done so before in Spain. Aina follows the steps of references such as Anna Corbella, Pilar Passanau or Djemila Tassin
The Palma International Boat Show will show a great diversity of boats and projects from April 27 to 30 at the Moll Vell in Palma and will strengthen its commitment to support the most alternative projects. Among the more than 200 boats to be seen during the living room is: Redó by Ánima Negre de Aina Bauzà. With only 6, 50 meters length is one of the fastest boats to cross the Atlantic by sail in relation to its length.
The Majorcan Aina Bauzà of the Club de Vela Port d'Andratx has made the sea its life, professional and personal. Since he began to compete in light sail, he has not stopped adding miles and now he is preparing the following challenge: to cross the Atlantic alone. Such a challenge involves dedicating the 7 days of the week to preparing, training, training, preparing the ship and, above all, preparing physically and mentally. It means dedicating all the time and energy.
Aina Bauzà's next big step is to participate in the Mini Transat, a single and unassisted navigation with the minimum amenities on board: dry candles turned into bed, a bucket like bathroom, lyophilized food and a hard training to not sleep more than in small naps of 20 minutes for weeks.
The Mini class 6.50 are 6.5-meter sailboats, one of the smallest and fastest but also very physically demanding ships. In this case Redó by Ánima Negre is a Vector, a very technical boat that surprises for its round bow design. With it you will face a tour of about 4,000 nautical miles in two stages. A first more technical of the Sables-d'Olonne in the Canary Islands and a second, more resistance to the Caribbean.
The Majorcan has been preparing for the challenge for a year and the last races are still in the Mediterranean and in France. The following quote on the agenda: the 700 miles alone from the SoloMed that is scheduled to leave Barcelona on May 8.
