The Kinder Trophy will be held within the Abanca Week, in Gijón and Leixóes.

Important meeting in the Leixóes Atlantic Sailing Clube between two of the new leaders of the Lusitana light candle reference, Nuno Amado (vice president), Tiago Talone (comandoro) and the General Secretary of the Abanca Week Manuel Pedro Seoane. Among the topics dealt with is that the Club del Gran Porto was the seat of the Meeting International of Portugal of the Optimist Class, an invitation that was accepted. Therefore the Kinder Trophy 2016 is served: first will be held the Meeting of Spain in Gijón organized by the Real Club Astur de Regatas de Gijón (who had already given its approval in early February) and then that of Portugal. The dates 7 to 9 for the Asturian citation and 14 to 16 for the Portuguese. In the 2015 edition, the winner was Alejandro Pérez Canal of the Canido Maritime Club.
