The European Championship of ILCA 4 that is about to begin has the organization of the City of Cadiz, through the Municipal Institute of Sports (IMD), EurILCA and the Royal Spanish Federation of Sailing, with the sponsorship of Eléctrica de Cadiz, Aguas de Cadiz and Automoción Terry, participating as partners the Andalusian Federation of Sailing, the University of Cadiz and the Council of Sustainability, Environment and Blue Economy
a Gaditana capital is about to demonstrate because in 2020 it managed to impose on another 27 candidates for the organization of the Youth European Championship of the class ILCA 4, which is held in the Elcano Nautical Centre and the waters of Cadiz between the next 16 and 22 April, based on its strategic location, the quality of its sports facilities, organizational capacity, and the magnificent conditions of which is considered one of the most irrigated bays in the world.
Cadiz collects the witness of the Polish city of Dziwnow for an appointment that comes preceded by the multitudinary call, with a thousand people involved in a race that transcends the sport interest, to become an event with enormous social, tourist and economic impact for the city of Cadiz, the province, Andalusia and Spain.
The breakdown of figures specifies around 400 athletes from 37 countries, a hundred coaches, so many other volunteers from the University of Cadiz, more than 80 people in the Staff of the race, and an incalculable number of companions and family around the young regatists between 14 and 17 years of age who participate in the continental meeting.
After a first day reserved for the development of the ships in a pre-training race, the qualifying tests will take place between Monday 17 April and Saturday 22 April, the latter day in which after the race will be held the delivery of medals.
