As an annual event, the race is rapidly becoming one of the most prominent events of the European summer sailing calendar and an emblematic event for the city of Cascais and the organizers Clube Naval de Cascais

Mirpuri Foundation Sailing Trophy, one of Portugal's most important nautical events, will be held in its fourth edition... in Cascais Bay from 7 to 9 July 2023, with six classes in liza and a wide variety of renowned boats.

In the absence of three months for the exit pistolet, the list of registered ones continues to grow, including known superyachts and VO65 ships from The Ocean Race that have records. This year's edition also introduced for the first time the Finn class, as well as the Snipe South European Championship, which currently has participants from Portugal, Spain and Italy... created in 2020 to help raise funds for marine conservation, the registration quotas for the race focused on sustainability are donated to ocean health projects by the main sponsor, the Mirpuri Foundation. And until June 8, 2023, all registration fees will also be sponsored by the Foundation.

The annual sailing show has already attracted the interest of many of the most important names in the world of professional sailing, which compete with some of the best ships, including the IMOCA and VO65 that compete in The Ocean Race. The local professional team and winner in 2021 and 2022, the Mirpuri Foundation Racing Team, will compete for the fourth consecutive time on board its VO65 "Racing for the Planet."

The race begins on Friday July 7 with the first of the three days of the race of the Snipe South European Championship.

On Saturday, July 8, a ceremonial canyon of the Portuguese Navy will start the races in the NHC, ORC, SB20, Snipe and Finn classes, as well as in the popular Optimist class, which the Mirpuri Foundation recognizes as an important class of access to the professional sailing, thanks to its sponsorship of the Mirpuri Foundation's Academy of Sailing, which works in the Naval Clube of Cascais.

On Sunday, July 9, the third and last day of the race will again compete the 6 classes and then will be delivered the impressive Sailing Trophy of the Mirpuri Foundation, currently in possession of the superyacht Green Eyes, 107 feet long, at the popular award ceremony organized by the Mirpuri Foundation.

In addition to the numerous class trophies for the races, the prestigious Ocean Award of the Mirpuri Foundation will be awarded for the third time to companies or individuals presenting a scientific project that has a beneficial impact on the health of the oceans. This year, in partnership with ICRI, the International Coral Reef Initiative, the cash prize also provides an opportunity to receive global recognition and to acquire visibility for exemplary environmental work.
