Alocén School of Sailing organized a successful Windsurf Clinic

The activity was organized by the Federation of Vela de Castilla la Mancha and had as its main objectives the technical and tactical improvement of the young athletes, the coexistence between them and the planning of the competitions of this season 2023 (Photo SURF3)

On the festive days of the Holy Week, a prominent Clinic of initiation to the races in the sport of the candle focused on this occasion in the mode of windsurfing took place at the School of Sailing of Alocén in the province of Guadalajara.

The age of the athletes who participated in this clinic was between 9 and 20 years of age, that is, windsurfers of the categories children, youth, junior, without a doubt highlighting the determined commitment of the autonomous federation manchega de sailing for support to the female sport in this year 2023.

These days of technification in the sport of windsurfing were mainly addressed to young Spanish athletes manchego, although participation was open to girls and boys from other autonomous communities. Thus, a total of 15 young people finally attended these days of sports improvement and coexistence.

The program developed during this Windsurf Clinic focused on the formation of the young windsurfers in such important aspects as the knowledge and development of the navigation material, the knowledge of advanced navigation techniques and familiarization with the different types of competition, such as the Techno 293, Slalom, Formula Windsurf, Foil and Raceboard.

In each of the days of this Clinic, practical navigation exercises were carried out in the reservoir of Interpeñas... in these water training, it was tried to improve the level of navigation of the sportsmen, mainly in relation to the improvement of the different parts that make up a race: navigation in dyed, long and stern, as well as the initiation to thought and tactical decisions (Photo SURF3)

The accommodation of the athletes and the training sessions took place at the facilities of the Alocén hostel / sailing school, with the collaboration of the C.D Orillas de Alocén at all times.

The technical direction of this Clínic was carried out by two technicians entitled from the regional sailing federation with extensive experience of participation in Spanish championships and international Windsurfing tests.

Both Pilar Prieto and Alfonso Tertre, as technical leaders of this meeting of young Windsurf promises, put forward a training approach, in which the coexistence between young athletes and teamwork were the most important aspects.

The Guadalajareña Pilar Prieto, as an expert in high competition in windsurfing and the regatist and Talaveran professor Alfonso Tertre, pointed out at the end of this Clinic, the high interest of the participants and stressed the importance of guiding the new generations of sailing athletes always betting on safety in sports practice, respect and care of the environment always trying to make an individual sport, such as Windsurfing, an enriching collective experience.

The surprise in this Clinic was, without a doubt, the remote participation of the international regatist Blanca Paliau... this Sevillian sportsman, who holds the current world record of speed in female windsurfing fire, was contacted by video conference with the girls and boys who participated in this clinic and all of them had the opportunity to exchange knowledge with this extraordinary regatist.
