The teams of the ships Hydra-HM Hospitals and Brujo have been the absolute winners of the three-fifth edition of The Salt Route... for their part the Proletari Project and Hydra-HM Hospitals, for their part, have been made with the title of winners in real time.
The Barcelona version has been especially technical, as it has had face wind and a calm hole right on the direct line to Sant Antoni that forced participants to constantly choose the best board, putting on the balance the miles to go and the risk of running out of wind.
The Hydra-HM Hospitals of Óscar Chaves was the team that best managed to respond to the technical challenge, with the advantage of being a condition of dinning with moderate winds that are especially adapted to the model DK 46 of the El Balís Nautical Club and that have made it worthy of a wide palmaris of victories in triangle races.
The second square of the podium in the Barcelona version was occupied by the Caliope, patronized by Antonio Lorca. 13 were the minutes that separated from the victory the boat of the Club Náutico Sant Feliu de Guíxols, the first model of J45 to sail in Europe and which was already released last year with its first participation in the Ruta de la Sal. The third square of the podium would be occupied by the Libellula, Swan 65 patronioned by Borja Pella, who, along with his brothers and on board the Galvana, already has two victories in previous editions of The Salt Route.

Brujo, Swan 45 by Alberto de Castro, with the award of the Royal Nautical Club of Valencia, was a great winner of the Denia version. The First Clem, Swan 53 of the Club of Sea, has not been able to revalidate the triumph that he achieved last year and that, if he did, would have meant the fifth victory of Jaime Olazabal, that he would have made him the pattern with the most laurel crowns in the history of The Salt Route, honor he currently shares with Manel Jané and Manel Guasch.
The third place in the Denia version was the team made up of mostly female crew patrolled by Lucía de Tomas on board the Genius IV, a First 40.7 of the Royal Nautical Club of Valencia that managed to place two boats at the top of the podium.
The Royal Nautical Club of Valencia scored another triumph, in this case in the Mini-Sal version, of direct direction Denia-Sant Antoni of Portmany, by the hand of the Xcuba, the IMX40 of Toni Garces that was imposed for just over four minutes to the Escualo Tres of the Royal Nautical Club of Denia, a Bavaria 49 patronado by Marcelino Cardona. The third position was for the First 40, Adele Two, Irish team based at the Nautical Club of Santa Eulàlia.
The president of the Organizing Committee of La Ruta de la Sal, Enric Curt, has thanked the support of all the entities that make this race possible and has stressed the need to establish an agreement between all institutions involved to guarantee the future of the race in Ibiza in the face of the progressive reduction of moorings in Sant Antoni de Portmany and the inability to accommodate in its port the entire great fleet of La Sal.
2023-04-07: Pelotari Project first in real from The Salt Route in Denia Version

The fleets, which continue to sail towards Sant Antoni de Portmany, face weak winds of southern component
Pelotari Project, the giant Vismara Mills 68 by Andrés Varela Entrecanas, has been a real-time winner in Denia Version today, after having achieved, in the previous edition, the time record of the Denia version of The Salt Route. On this occasion, it has been relaunched with victory in real time, although in this case the time of navigation has been quite longer because the fleet has had to face much weaker wind conditions.
The boat that defends the colors of the Nautical Club of Pollença stopped the clock today at 11: 18: 51, after 21: 18m.51s. of navigation, to cover the 120 miles that represent the total route of the Denia version.
After the Pelotari Project, at 12: 50: 20, the Witch, Swan 45 by Alberto de Castro, while the Clem, Swan 56 by Jaime Olazabal, was the third ship in the Denia version to cross the line at 13: 41: 48.
The fleet of the Barcelona version is commanded by the Hydra, DK 46 by Oscar Chaves, followed by the Alak, Swan 62, the Caliope, J45, and the Flomali2, Swan 60. It is expected that these ships will cross the arrival line around six in the afternoon and that the increase in wind intensity will allow the entire fleet to enter within the time limit that ends on Saturday at 10: 00.
In relation to the Mini-Sal version, before two in the morning of Friday, April 6, the fleet that formed this version had covered the 55 miles of its direct tour Denia / Sant Antoni of Portmany, being the Xcuba of Toni Garcés, IMX40 of the R.C.N. of Valencia, the first to cross the line of arrival, at 21: 55: 19 on Thursday, April 5. The Escualo Tres, Bavaria 49 de Marcelino Cardona entered 17 seconds later, while the Irish team of the Adele dos de Mairead and Chealliachain did it 13 seconds later. An arrival of infarction, for a Mini-Sal version in which finally the first three podium positions of the general classification in time compensating have been occupied by the first three ships to arrive and in the same order of arrival: Xcuba, Escualo Tres and Adelie dos.

Image by Alfred Farré from the Barcelona exit
As planned, this morning the two fleets, coming from Port Ginesta (Barcelona) and the other from the Royal Nautical Club of Denia, participated in the three-fifth edition of La Ruta de la Sal.
135 are the ships already sailing to Sant Antoni de Portmany (67 in the Barcelona version and 68 in Denia version), all enjoying good sea and wind conditions. So much so that a soft breeze from the south-east has allowed both exits to occur at the expected time, providing the possibility to set a direct course to destination, immediately starting a clear and close struggle among the most competitive.
Given the prevailing conditions and the average speed that can develop the fastest, the first ships to cross the arrival line are expected to do so in the next morning, beating in real time. However, this fact does not guarantee them victory in compensated time, as they will have to wait for the rest of the fleet to know who has best been able to defend their rating, achieving the final triumph in the general and / or in their respective classes.
It also confirms the formation of the Salinas category, reserved for ships headed by a woman and with 50% of the female crew; the A2 category, for ships manned by two people; the GlomeSailor category for school and rental ships, as well as the Bali-MedCat category for catamarans.
