Capers at the Sailway Foundation: Maritime Rescue is ready to be effective in minutes

On the occasion of the thirtieth anniversary of the State Society of the Maritil Salvation of Spain; the Sailway Foundation in Vigo was the meeting point of many fans of the nautical, to listen to one of the most authorized voices at the national level of the matter: Manuel Capeans who is the most responsible of the Centre of the Marine Salvation of Finisterre, which monitors the Galician coast along with those of La Coruña and Vigo
The Spanish civilian navy has been in a new era of efficiency and modernity for thirty years, the result of a great effort by all the sectors concerned, which was accompanied at the ministerial level by significant investments in logistical and human material.
This was the beginning of his interesting talk, Manuel Capeans, who is currently in charge of the Coordination Centre for Maritime Traffic and Rescue of Finisterre: for this institutional support, we have the means and equipment of the highest quality, which is permanently vigilant, to the extent that under normal conditions he is prepared to intervene in less than 45 minutes, within our area of responsibility.
This was obviously compared to the effectiveness prior to the implementation of these services, it was little less than a dream, of which the Spanish nautical has fortunately awakened.
Another different issue is that we are made easier, so that we can be as efficient as we would like... for this it is very important that sports patterns give us as exact situations as possible, and that radio communication, have all the quality that it should and can have.
Capeans insisted on his talk at the Sailway Foundation, that the biggest problem sometimes is the little agility of the complainants, as well as the lack of knowledge of the means available to them to communicate with Salvamento... as to be able to properly use VHF with digital selective calls.
The three Galician centers: La Coruña, Finisterre and Vigo, have become effective... has the point of offering a figures that speak of high quality in our work. The assistance was a success at the Sailway Foundation, and the questions about the orcas were not missing... for Capeans it is necessary for users to give us quickly all the accurate information, and when they are in situations of risk, do not fix it at high speeds, for for them the speed motivates them also to do the same.
As advice to the possible interaction with the dolphins and orcas is reducing the speed, turning off the electronic instruments and not holding the wheel or cane with the hand... let alone play. The best thing is to go unnoticed and not to provoke them, or to draw their attention.
