This competition that takes place in Easter, from 6 to 8 April, will start from Port Ginesta and the Royal Nautical Club of Denia to culminate on the island of Ibiza

The Sal Road will be heading for Ibiza on April 6 in its thirty-fifth edition, starting from Port Ginesta and the Royal Nautical Club of Denia. This meeting, with 130 registered vessels, is further consolidated as the most popular high race in the Mediterranean.

During the morning of Holy Thursday, as has been the case for 35 years, a major fleet of 65 sailboats will leave, at 12: 00 hours, Port Ginesta of Barcelona to Sant Antoni de Portmany, while another, just as numerous, with a total of 66 ships, will leave at 14: 00 hours from the Royal Nautical Club of Denia.

The first group will go 140 miles and the second one will go 117 miles. All those registered to The Route of Sal will enjoy the pleasure of navigation, live the excitement of the competition and fight for triumph, either in real time or compensated from April 6 to 8.

Many of the competitors know this tour very well, as they have participated in previous editions and even some have already proclaimed themselves winners, such as the Clem, Swan 56, and the Pelotari Project, Vismara Mills 68, the absolute and real-time winner, respectively, of the Denia version in 2022, or the Geronimo, JPK 1030, the absolute winner of the Barcelona version in 2022.

However, The Sal Road is, in turn, the perfect formula for starting in high navigation, as demonstrated by the rise of the GlomeSailor Category, reserved for school and rental ships, which in the Barcelona version alone already has about 20 registered boats. Another category of promotion is the Salina category, which aims to promote female sailing and which for the first time will be formed in both the Barcelona and Denia versions.

As they have stated since the organization of this new edition of La Ruta de la Sal, everything is already ready in Port Ginesta and in the RCN Denia to start this sports test that will culminate in Sant Antoni de Portmany, municipality of Ibiza in which all its population, headed by the City Council of the municipality and especially by all members and staff of the Club Náutico Sant Antoni, live this race as the event that marks the beginning of the season. It should be noted that this 2023 the Club celebrates its silver weddings, which augurates, they claim from La Ruta de Sal, will be a great edition.
