Last weekend was the first event of the Spring Mediterranean Cup for ships of the J70 class in Barcelona waters. A dozen boats have participated in the event.
On Friday the first three tests were released with a south-west wind and between 9- 12 knots, at the close of the second manga a sudden role changed the course to the north-east by testing all the teams. The third manga was played with a northeastern wind rising to 14 knots. In the provisional ranking, the Hang Ten team was placed with Jorge M.Doresta at the bar, followed by Noticia de Luis M.Cabiedes and third Alcaidesa Marina with Gustavo M.Doreeste at the helm.
On Saturday, four tests were held with stable garby wind conditions ranging from 9 to 12 knots. Noticia led the first two sleeves, but in the third and fourth hang ten went back to taking the first post again. The provisional classifications were maintained.
In the final day of Sunday, with a wind of 210 and 12-14 knots, three of the four scheduled races were held. Alcaidesa Marina led the day with a 1-2-1, moving his closest rival, the Noticia, and taking the second place on the podium. Hang Ten who made a 2-3-2, managed to maintain the lead thanks to his good races throughout the act.

- Alcaidesa Marina de Gustavo M.Doreeste / Panei = 20 points
- News de Luis Martín Cabiedes (RCNB) = 21 Points
- Clinics W by Luis M. Doreste / Terrades / Lopez (RCNB / RCNA / RCNGC) = 37 points
- Bodegas Can Marlès de Lucia Pombo (CNVilanova) = 45 points
Spring Mediterranean Cup 2023
From March to April the Spring Mediterranean Cup will be held by joining the Clubs of Barcelona and Palma de Mallorca with the intention of following the calendar of competitions of both cities. It consists of three acts, the first in Barcelona and the second and third in Palma de Mallorca. The second event will match the Princess Sofia Trophy, then in the month of May in Barcelona will join in the same event the Spanish Cup and the Catalan Championship of the class J70, from 19 to 21 May. A week later, from 25 to 28 May, it will be the prestigious Count of Godó Trophy that this year marks its 50th anniversary, and is expected to be one of the great sports and social events of the city Condal.
Act 1: 24.25 and 26 March 2023, RCN Barcelona.
Act 2: 31 March, 1 and 2 April 2023 (Princess Sofia Trophy), RCN Palma.
Act 3: 21.22 and 23 April 2023, RCN Palma.

On Friday the Mediterranean Spring Cup will begin for the J70 class of ships organized by the Real Club Nautico de Barcelona and the Real Club Nautico de Palma. The tests will be held in the waters of Barcelona and the Bay of Palma de Mallorca.

The Mediterranean Spring Cup follows up the Barcelona Winter Series held at the Real Club Nautico in Barcelona from October to February, which has a consolidated fleet and an ever higher level due to equality among all teams, so fun and competitiveness are served.
The competition consists of three events with 36 scheduled tests, 4 per day, of which it will be necessary to complete at least 6 so that the title of winner of the J70 Mediterranean Spring Cup 2023 can be awarded.
