The 470 is a 4.7-metre-long Olympic ship from the JJ.OO. in Montreal 1976. The Nacra 17 debuted with combined crew at the 2016 Rio Games and the current Olympic cycle incorporates for the first time the 470 Mixed, which brings together the best experts of male and female categories under a single mixed class. Both disciplines participated in this format in the last edition of the Princess Sofia Trophy and return this year strengthened in quantity and quality. In 2022 66 teams of 470 Mixed and 38 of Nacra 17 competed, and the list of pre-registered for the 52 Trophy Princess Sofia Mallorca by Iberostar shows 75 teams of 470 Mixed and 55 of Nacra 17. Participation has increased by 25%.

The mixed formula
The Olympic candle incorporated its first female category in the JJ.OO. in Seoul 1988. The boat chosen for that historic debut was precisely 470, and the first couple of women to hang an Olympic gold was that of the Americans Allison Jolly and Lynne Jewell. Seven Olympic Games later, the catamaran Nacra 17 was in charge of opening the new concept of mixed crew in Rio 2016, and the first winning tandem was that formed by Argentines Santiago Lange and Cecilia Carranza.

470 Mixed
The list of pre-registered 470 Mixed in Sofia consists of 75 teams of 26 nationalities and includes the world's best specialists. The champions of the Sofia 2022, the Spaniards Jordi Xammar and Nora Brugman, who arrive in Mallorca in good form after imposing in February in the last race of the category, the Lanzarote International Regatta. They were accompanied on the canary podium by their fellow citizens Silvia Mas and Nicolás Rodríguez, and by the Swedes Anton Dahlberg and Lovisa Karlson. The Nacra 17 is a catamaran of 5.25 meters length by 2.59 meters manga and an optimal crew weight of 135 kg. Born in 2011, in 2012 he was chosen by World Sailing as a boat to premiere the category of Olympic mixed crew at the 2016 Rio Games.
