The Real Club de Regatas de Alicante has been chosen by the international class 420 to host the 2023 World Championship, after the Gozpete Yelken Kulubu, a club bathed by the Aegean Sea to the east of Turkey, gave up its last minute celebration due to the earthquake that has affected the Ottoman country.

This is why the 420 class sought several alternatives to four months from the event and the Real Regatas Club of Alicante has presented the most attractive proposal, ahead of those of Cascais, Piraeus and Jávea.

The Real Club de Regatas de Alicante, through its President Miguel López Barrero, wanted to show the collaboration and solidarity of the club with those affected by the earthquake and to engage in the organization of the World Cup of 420 on the dates scheduled from the beginning and that are from 21 to 29 July 2023, making it available to the 420 class, so that the championship can be held in the time planned.
