Montrenez-Ruiz win the quote of Altea punctuable for the Euroflying Cup 2023

The RCN Torrevieja regatists, Francisco José Martínez and Jose Luis Ruiz, are made with gold in this first test of the European circuit of Flying Dutchman 2023
The Euroflying Cup 2023 was starting last Thursday in the waters of Altea Bay. This international event with more than 20 years of history brings together every year the best specialists of the light sailing class Flying Dutchman.
The test was organized by the Spanish Association of Flying Dutchman, the Royal Spanish Federation of Vela, the Federation of Vela of the Valencia Community and the Nautical Club of Altea. The race also has the support of the project Comunitat de l'Esport de la Generalitat Valenciana, a program to promote sports activity.
For the three days of race, a total of 9 sleeves were scheduled, but due to the low wind only 4 tests have been completed, enough to erect this year's winners. The wind has blown over the three days with intensities of between 5 and 6 knots, allowing to perform two sleeves on Thursday and two on Friday.
The wind made it more complicated for the Regatta Committee on Saturday. The scarcity and continuous wind roles left the day blank.
The regatists of the Real Club Náutico de Torrevieja, Francisco José Martínez and Jose Luis Ruiz, have positioned themselves throughout the race in the head of the classification, leaving impeccable results, four first in the four sleeves disputed. The couple of Torrevieja has thus proclaimed themselves champions of this edition of the Euroflying Cup 2023.
Their club partners, Ginés Romero and Álvaro Moreno, followed them in the classification by obtaining the silver with two seconds as best partial. The third position was for a crew of the Nautical Club of Altea, which was formed by Marco Sevila and Roberto Sevila, father and son.
This is the end of this first race that opens the European circuit of the Flying Dutchman class. After this test in Altea the circuit will travel to ports of Italy, Austria, Germany and Croatia, where the struggle will continue among the best regatists of the Flying Dutchman class to get the European title.
