The twenty-second edition of the Tembra Vela, a great race of the Mediterranean, features new image, in an edition in which it seeks to make a leap of quality and adaptation to the new times, with a fresh and modern image. The Alicantine race will take a leap of quality by incorporating a class of high level of both ships and participants as is the Dragon and opens the J80 to the absolute, thus making the capital of the Costa Blanca as the point of reference of the candle in July. The Tembra Vela loops in an edition that promises many new and aims to surprise regatists and visitors since it opens inscriptions.

As announced in FITUR, the new dates of the Tembra Vela will be from 13 to 16 July 2023. The Real Club de Regatas de Alicante has wanted to give it a turn that will make it one of the most innovative and interesting races in the country. Half way between the SM Trophy the Queen of Valencia and the Copa del Rey Mapfre de Palma, the Tencarca Vela is presented as the perfect race and preparation for the crews and the development and preamble of the Copa del Rey.

In addition to the traditional ORC 0-1-2-3-4-5 cruise classes, the J80 class - which in the last edition was exclusively female as part of the Iberdrol circuit - this year will become absolute; while the five units of the RCRA City & Beach J22 class will be for female crews. The addition of this exclusive class, such as the Dragon - which has a very important international fleet in the Mediterranean - will also give a different added value with respect to the rest of summer races.

This year's edition will give the second Tenca Vela Awards to the media, in which a jury will assess the values and trajectory of either the media or the media professionals. In the last edition, three awards were awarded to the National Press, the Local Press and a special award, to which one more category, Photography and Audiovisual, is added this year.
