The Vigués Paco Riveras reproduces the Galician title sub-13 and Bruno Iglesias (CND Riveira) and Flavia Rodríguez (RCN Coruña) win the sub-16
Bruno Iglesias (CND Riveira) and Flavia Rodríguez (RCN Coruña) in absolute category (sub-16) and Paco Riveras (RCN Vigo) and Alma Chamorro (Marítimo de Canido) in sub-13 were proclaimed this afternoon the autonomous champions of Optimist in waters of the Ría de Vigo. Of the four, only Paco Riveras repeats the Galician of Sanxenxo 2022, in which the Vigo regatist also won the title.
Under the organization of the Royal Nautical Club of Vigo, and with the exceptional question of doing so in two days instead of the usual three, the April Oil Trophy did not disappoint. The Optimist fleet was found with an average of 15 knots on Saturday and 8 on Sunday, to complete the three daily tests scheduled.
Finally, Bruno Iglesias imposed himself on Riveras in a colossal duel. The vineyard lay down leader on Saturday (1-1-2), with three points of advantage over the regatist of the Ribeirense club, which went from less to more (series 5-2-1). But on the second day, and after a big shot (seventeenth in the fourth manga, first of the day), Bruno turned the classification.
He achieved two first positions that gave him the final lead in the General of the Yellow Group (5-2-1- [17] -1-1, 10 net points), with an advantage point over Riveras (1-1-2-4- [7] -3, 11 points). The result left Paco Riveras as second in the general, subchampion Galician sub-16 and champion Galicia sub-13. Alejandro Alonso (RCN Vigo), tenth in general, went up to the sub-13 drawer as second and Pablo Núñez (RCN Coruña) as third.
In female category, title sub-16 for Flavia Rodríguez (RCN Coruña), sixth in general (7-7- [25] -9-16-6, 45 points), escorted by Aitana Pérez (Monte Real) and Carolina Comesaña (CM Canido), seventh and seventeenth, respectively. And the sub-13 for Alma Chamorro (CM Canido), thirty-fourth in the general.
For the Nautical, the new triumph of Riveras only confirms its proper evolution, and more against older rivals and, therefore, experience. Finally over 144 registered units, to the water were 136 ships, all of those of the Yellow Group (70) and 66 of the Blue Group, in which the sub-13 Lara Durán (RCN Sanxenxo) commanded the general and was the first female classified, while the sub-11 José Luis Ríos (RCN Vigo), second, was the first male classified.
