The ILCA class ends its European Championship in Liguria Sea waters, with a tenth place by countries of Joaquín Blanco in ILCA 7, 12th of the general, fourth of David Ponseti in ILCA 6 M, and 20th of Ana Moncada in ILCA 6.
After a timid start due to lack of wind, the continental of one of the longest classes (Atlanta 1996) of those who participate in the Olympic Games, and the one that brings together the most numerous fleets in race, has closed its sports program with three tests for the women's ILCA 7 and 6, two for the men's ILCA 6.
In the start of the final sprint for the World Cup of The Hague in August, where the first country squares for Paris 2024 will be distributed, Spain takes positions in ILCA 7 with a tenth place per European country and a tenth in the continental classification of the hand of Joaquín Blanco. The European Championship of ILCA 6 and 7 is ready for sentence with only one day to fight and after five days of weather instability. Finally, the fleet gathered in Andora, Italy, has managed to add two new races for all classes.
The David Ponseti Balar continues to be one of the most prominent Spanish in the competition and in the absence of a day for the end it occupies the eighth general position of the male ILCA 6. For his part, Juan Tomás-Verdera goes down to post 13 and Max Urquizu to 15, followed by Javier Plomer, in 16th.
In ILCA 7, the canary Joaquín Blanco is placed 21 of the European classification and 26 of the general open, a result that for the moment would be useful to ensure a position within the national pre-Olympic sailing team in the next season. For its part, Leo Barreto, the other Spanish competing in the gold group of this class, has been located at 62 of the general.

Balar regatist David Ponseti stands out as best Spanish of this continental
Excellent day of navigation today in Andora, Italy, with three new races that go up to the markers of ILCA 6 M and F and two for the ILCA 7, in which David Ponseti has been the best Spanish standing in fourth place, a step from the podium of ILCA 6 male.
The fourth day of competition of the European Championship started at the established time and wanted to take advantage of the improvement of conditions to make as many sleeves as possible.
The group in which the Spaniards collected the best results was the male ILCA 6, where David Ponseti rose from the seventh to the fourth position. Two new results that have taken a turn for the classification, today led by the Australian Matthew Wearn, followed by the Croatian Tucci Stipanovic, while the Spaniards improved their positions notably: Joaquín Blanco rose from 52 to 38, and Leo Barreto from 60 to 56. As with the girls of ILCA 6, the open character of the competition masks the results of the European Championship, where the Spanish, White and Barreto, are 31 and 47 respectively.

The ILCA European Championship finally closes a day in which the three participating fleets have been able to navigate and add new results to the score of the qualifying series.
The ILCA 6 were the first to finish the day of race, with two tests for the females and three for the boys. Good results for the Spanish in this category, with three regatists in the provisional TOP10: Joan Tomás Verdera 6th, David Ponseti 7th and Max Urquizu 10th. They are followed by Daniel Cardona in position 17, Javier Plomer 18, Daniel Giménez 24, and Joan Ravie 29 in the first half of the fleet. The interim leader is Greek Athanasios Kyfidis.
The women of ILCA 6 have completed only two new sleeves today, after which Cristina Pujol remains the first Spanish in position 24. He was followed by Martina Reino in 32, Ascension Roca 39 and Ana Moncada 44, as the most outstanding. At the front of this fleet is the Portuguese Vasileia Karachaliou.

After a long wait in the water, the ILCA 7 managed to add the first race of the competition while the male and female fleets of ILCA 6 remained waiting to finally return to the ground without having been able to start their lockers.

More than 300 regatists will be fighting since tomorrow for the European titles of ILCA 7, ILCA 6 female and ILCA 6 male in Andora, Italy
Based in Andria, Italy, the waters of the Gulf of Genoa will host from tomorrow Sunday the dispute of the European Championship of ILCA, the oldest class of the so-called Olympic, attended by more than 40 Spanish regatists. The total participation of this continental is close to the 400 athletes.
Ana Moncada among the girls of ILCA 6, and Joaquín Blanco and Leopold Barreto in ILCA 7 lead the Spanish delegation as members of the Olympic team, to which are added athletes of the three categories admitted: ILCA 7, ILCA 6 female and ILCA 6 male. Among the 42 Spaniards are Isabel Hernández and Daniel Cardona, both included in the National Plan for Sports Tecnification of the RFEV, which were bronze Sub21 in ILCA 6 female and male respectively in the European 2022.
This competition marks the beginning of the second Olympic cycle of the Spanish sailing team for the ILCA class that will be completed with the world. In order to continue in the Olympic team during the next cycle, athletes in this European must be within the first 15% of the fleet, or among the first eight European countries.
On the starting line we will see the full podiums of the last Olympic Games: Anne-Marie Rindom (DEN), Josefin Olsson (SWE) and Marit Bouwmeester (NED) of ILCA 6, and Matthew Wearn (AUS), Fonci Stipanovic (CRO) and Hermann Tomargaard (NOR) in ILCA 7. The Open character of the competition has boosted international participation with almost half a hundred registered non-European regatists, thus offering a good prelude to the world that will take place in The Hague in August, where the first country squares for Paris 2024 will be put in play.
The organization provides for the dispute of up to twelve notable races, to be held between tomorrow Sunday, 12 March, and next Friday day 17. The tests shall be divided into a classification series and a final series. The weather parts announce strong wind for the week's premiere and rainy days during this championship.
