Alberto de Castro and Axel Rodger of the RCN Valencia revalidate the title obtained in 2019

The 37 edition of the Winter Regatta 200 miles a2 gave the starting pistolet last Friday March 3 at 12: 00. A total of 24 boats and 48 regatists set out to Ibiza in this test organized by the Nautico Club of Altea and which has been a remarkable regatta for the Spanish Cup of Cruises A2.

This edition has been characterized by the low-intensity wind and the encalmed, conditions that have tested the most tactical part of the equipment.

The Organizing Committee gave the exit at the expected time with a wind intensity of between 7 and 8 knots, a very tight output and in which two out of line were given, both ships had to return to take the exit again. The ships began the course of fencing with the rising wind that would soon encalmarize creating areas with different pressure.

The Brujo boat was already at the head from the exit, maintaining its position throughout the race in real time, although in compensation it fought several battles.

At 11: 00 p.m. Friday night the wind rolled north-east allowing to sail to the fleet practically on a board to Conejera, the first point of passage through Ibiza. Alberto de Castro and Axel Rodger lived with the Wizard Ibiza and Formentera in first position in real time, in constant struggle with the M8 in compensated time.

A few miles away, another more tight battle will be fought between those of Altea, the Guaguanco IV and the Limbo II, and those of Torrevieja, the Maverta and the Computer, the four surrounded the Pitiusas by stepping on their heels. The Aurora del RCN Calpe also maintained the entire race by defending in a very good position its compensated time, but the podium options faded as they entered a calm area near the arrival.

33 hours and 6 minutes after the departure, the Brujo ship crossed the line of arrival in Altea, obtaining the first place in real time. An hour and 15 minutes later the M8 also finished the tour.

Once most of the fleet reached port, the Organizing Committee compensated the times obtained by the boats according to their rating, and the winners were made known.

The following day, on Sunday, March 5, the award was held on the terraces of the Bon Vent restaurant of the Nautical Club of Altea. The good weather, live music and a buffet meal made this date a real sailing party with over 70 attendees.

Alberto de Castro and Axel Rodger of the RCN Valencia were taking up champions of this edition, thus revalidating their 2019 title. Of course the Brujo boat has won an important place in the 200-mile-a-2 palmaris, its patron Alberto de Castro was also first left in 2014, 2005 and 1999.
