The Optiorange 2023, an international race organized by the Royal Nautical Club of Valencia and which has been held since last Thursday, closes and does so with the champions Travis Greenberg and Olha Lubianska at all and with Mehmet Erkut Budak and Antonina Dziekańska in Sub13 (Pep Porta Photos)

One last day with everything to decide and that, after the three tests completed today, only the American Travis Greenberg has been able to defend that first position with which he started the day. Antonina Dziekańska, for her part, did not have the same fate, although she had the first position in SUB13.

The Ukrainian Olha Lubianska has taken over from the Polish Dziekańska as the first female. Lubianska has gone from more to less on this last day, sealing a first place, in the next two it has not exceeded position 21 and 54. Some numbers have also been in line with those obtained by the Polish regatists, with the exception of the first test. With a results of 69-60-37 he has lost that first place in the absolute general but not in SUB13.

The male podium is closed with Greenberg adding 63 points, followed by the Swedish Henric Wigforss that place 67, while the Spanish Leo Zabell (CNM of Benalmádena) hangs the bronze by getting 83 points. With regard to the females and with Lubianska, the Valencian Blanca Ferrando (RCN of Valencia) and the Polish Dziekańska have been classified.

International podium in male Sub13, with Mehmet Erkut Budak accompanied by Estonian Robert Matt and Finnish Sami Hietalahti. As for the Dziekańska girls, the gold is hung, while silver and bronze have been for the Spanish Mª Antonia Peñalver (CN Mar Menor) and Ukrainian Ahnieshka Madonna.

The numbers of this Optiorange that now concludes have been spectacular, with 455 regatists representing 25 countries, with magnificent wind conditions in a unique race field where the 12 tests provided for in the program have been completed, six of them in the qualifying round for all groups, the five, and six in the final series.

The American Travis Greenberg and the Polish Antonina Dziekańska assume command of the Optiorange after closing the first of the two days of the final round. Both take the relief to the Spanish Joan Domingo (CN Cambrils) and Blanca Ferrando (RCN de Valencia) who have not had their best day, especially the Valencian, since in the last test an error in the tactical decision has brought him down to position 80, partial that is removed by dragging the 33 that he got in the first test of the championship.

The current champion, Blanca Ferrando, remains 10 points from the Polish Dziekańska, which is 65, signing 8-9-60, the latter is its worst partial, so its margin over the Spanish one is short, so everything will be decided on Sunday. Both arrive very tight, as to their numbers in their respective locker. One mistake tomorrow can decline the title to one side or to the other... what is certain is that Dziekańska is already virtual champion of the Sub13.

Ukrainian Olha Lubianska, for her part, has almost secured the absolute bronze medal in females. He's third with 104 points, for 75 he's got right now, Blanca Ferrando. Lubianska signs a BFD in the first and then harvest two good results: 3-16.

As for the Sub13, provisional podium for Turkish Mehmet Erkut Budak, followed by Estonian Robert Matt and Antonio López (RCR Cartagena). Mª Antonia Peñalver (CN Mar Menor) and the Ukrainian Ahnieshka Madonich are placed in females and next to Dziekańska.

Tomorrow the fourth and last day of the Optiorange 2023, second of the final round, in which three other tests are planned... with beginning at the edge of 11: 30 kla morning.

Second day of the Optiorange 2023 in the Royal Nautical Club of Valencia, and it does so by completing the program of three tests. Once again the wind has been late in the Manel Casanova race area, with a previous land deferral of more than two hours. After launching the first test at 2 p.m. the wind has remained in the direction and intensity of the southwest.

With the three closed tests more than the three of yesterday, they add up to six and, with this, the qualifying round is closed, starting to play the discard, which has caused a major change in the classification, together with the partials that the protagonists have achieved, both in positive and negative. The groups Gold, Silver, Bronze, Esmeralda and Pearl are defined for the next two days.

In this sense we reach the final series with leader changes. Catalan Joan Domingo (CN Cambrils) takes over the Andalusian Leo Zabell (CNM Benalmádena). In the green group Domingo signs 1-1-2, adding 7 points after taking off that 10th place obtained in yesterday's first test. Zabel, for its part, still and despite yesterday's three triumphs, today with numbers of 4-10-3 in the yellow group has not served him to maintain that first position, as ahead Ignacio Fernández (CN Puerto Sherry), competing with the reds, has been somewhat finer: 3-1-1.

In Blanca Ferrando (RCN de Valencia) women have shown their best version, in very favourable wind conditions for her. The Valencian closes and seals its pass to the final series with 2-5-1, competing in the blue group. Ferroing is 14 points, the same as the two in front of it, with the Swedish Alexander Forssen and the javiense Mateo Carbonell (CN Jávea). The Polish Antonina Dziekańska is second, first in SUB13, while Agnès Hadzi Janev Rosa (CN El Balís) is third in the female category.

In the category SUB13 the provisional podiums are closed with Antonina Dziekańska, followed by Marta Ferrando (RCN de Valencia) Inés Mendez Larminaux de Puerto Rico. As for the boys, podium for Turkish Mehmet Erkut Budak accompanied by British Jonny Rogers and Estonian Robert Matt.

Tomorrow Saturday starts the first of the two final series days, at 11.30 a.m., if the wind allows.

The first day in the Optiorange 2023, the international race of the Optimist class, is closed in compliance with the script. On the one hand, the wind conditions, which were already expected to be of little intensity. A wind that has cost to enter and when it has done so it reached 5-6 knots, although in the last test it has recorded 8-9 knots, at least for the first two groups, with a axis of the 130º that has ended in the 100º, being a very long day for the fleet of 456 regatists.

The favorites have also been able to stand in front, almost all of them, in a complicated race field, on a day that has been long, but that in the end it has been possible to complete the program of three tests for the five groups, leading to fifteen exits (not counting general calls).

The Andalusian Leo Zabell (CNM Benalmádena), sailing the Green group, has been untreatable in Valencia waters. With three first positions he is placed leader of the general with three points. In the Purple group, the Javiense Mateo Carbonell (CN Jávea), with partials of 1-1-3 is located in the second square, shared with the Ukrainian Sviatoslav Madonna, also in the same group, although its numbers have been very different: 2-2-1. Both have shown a high level in Valencia waters.

The German Lukas Wagner, for its part, is fourth thanks to the results he has obtained in the Yellow group: 2-2-2, adding 6 points. Behind and with 7 is the Swedish Alexander Forssen (1-1-5).

The first female in the table is found at position 17 of the provisional absolute general. The santapola Elsa Sellés (CN Santa Pola), SUB13 and in the Green group, closes the day with good partials: 2-2-18, this being the only "lunar" and that deprives it of being above.

One of the great favorites of the title: Blanca Ferrando (RCN Valencia) has not had its day, framed the group Azul. At the moment it is fifth of the women and their home start has been very discreet, sealed post 31 on the arrival of the first test of the day. In the second the Valencian fixed it, with a serial race and well worked at the tactical level which allowed to close with second place. The last one finished fourth.

The provisional top ten with Zabel, Carbonell, Madonna, and Wagner, if they place the Swedish Alexander Forssen, with 7 points; the Catalan Joan Domingo (CN Cambrils) and the American Travis Greenberg, both with 12 points; Leo Griñán (RCN Torrevieja), with 13; Juan Lleonart (CN El Balís), with 14 and that tenth square is shared by Iker Múgica (CN Cambrils) and the Swedish Oscar Wetter and Henric Wigforss, the three with 15 points.

Tomorrow Friday, the second and last day of the qualifying round, with three tests planned... if one is closed, the discards will come into play and the final series will also be given way, for the days of Saturday and Sunday... the first test of the day has been established from 11.30 a.m.

In this line, countries like France have found in the Valencian meeting a race very attractive to their sports interests and that serves as preparation for their national teams, both for the European and world class. Its presence in the capital of the Turia has grown exponentially and in this edition is present with 34 regatists.

But it is not the only country that has on its list the Optiorange to form its teams. Germany, Switzerland, Malta, the Netherlands, Finland, Sweden, Ireland, Denmark, Great Britain, Estonia or Poland are some of the teams present that have the Valencian race marked in their respective competition calendars.

In addition to the participation in Valencia these days, South Africa, Taipei, Turkey, Lithuania, Puerto Rico, Bahamas, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Latvia, Ukraine and Norway.

At the sports level there are several options to set up a possible podium for next Sunday. The Ukrainian Ahnieshka Madonna is one of the fixed ones in all quinielas. In the quote of Torrevieja he took the title and in Palamós he concluded fifth.

A race that was awarded the Hugo Rodríguez ballast, which has also shone with its own light throughout the Spanish circuit of the OEC. Iker Múgica, from Cambrils, is another one that points to being on top ten, as well as the Polish Bartosz Migumudziński or the German Lukas Wagner; Elena López del Masnou; Charlotte Crosbie de Jávea or Adriana Gómez de Torrevieja, to quote one of them.

But Spain, in addition to these options, presents three other and very important, because all three are from home, from the Nautico de Valencia, club that provides 26 regatists. With podium options are Blanca and Marta Ferrando and Eduardo Reyes, mainly.

The Regatas Committee plans to complete 12 tests during the four competition days, the first two of which are classified and the next two for the final series. The top of departure for the first test of the day, on Thursday day, has been set at 12 noon, while for the next three days and except for changes it will be at 11.30 a.m.
