SailGP and the Swiss Rolex watch manufacturer have announced a new and innovative ten-season agreement in which the emblematic brand will expand its relationship as Global Main Sponsor and exclusive official championship watch until the end of the tenth season.
Rolex joined as Global Senior Sponsor since the beginning of SailGP in 2018, a competition that in May will hold the final of a third record season before starting a fourth more extensive season next June. This agreement highlights the strong forged relationship between the two brands as the championship continues its rapid growth.
As part of the agreement, Rolex will become the main sponsor of the opening event of the fourth season, the Rolex United States Sail Grand Prix of Chicago at Navy Pier, on June 16 and 17, 2023.
Rolex will also continue as the Global Senior Sponsor of the innovative SailGP Racing on the Edge document, which leads fans behind the scenes, to see the ups and downs of the best professional sailing athletes in their struggle to be the best. In its second season, Racing on the Edge has accumulated more than 2.1 million viewers since its creation. The latest edition, starring the Australian Tom Slingsby and the promotion of his team to the top of the SailGP, can be seen here.
The third season of SailGP continues next week at the KPMG Australia Sail Grand Prix - 124; Sydney on 18 and 19 February, before heading across the Tasmanian Sea for the ITM New Zealand Sail Grand Prix - 124; Christchurch on 18 and 19 March.
