The shooting reached the last day tied to points with the Polish Bartosz Zmudzinski, but in the final day, in which three tests were held, Rodriguez's consistency with two third parties and a sixth place were used to raise the trophy of absolute champion.
The second position has also been for a Spanish, Catalan Joan Domingo del Nàutic Cambrils, who has been around the podium posts all week and who with a 5-9-1 in the final day got the subchampionship. The third position was for Zmudzinski.
The Catalan Iker Múgica also from the Tarraconense club of Cambrils, who came to lead the general in the first days had to withdraw in the first test of the day, since it ruled out, but an 11 and a 28, finally left him out of the podium in fourth position. Another of the favorites, the Ukrainian Sviatoslav Madonna, who arrived in Palamós after winning the Trofeu Ciutat de Palma and the Euromarina Torrevieja, finally closed its fifth participation, just the same as in the previous edition in these same waters.

Day of changes at the 33 International Vila of Palamós Optimist Trophy on its third day of competition. The wind has blown more strongly than in the first two days, which has caused a turn in the general setting the Hugo Rodríguez (CN Arenal) and the Polish Bartosz Zmudzinski to 16 points at the top of the general classification.
This Saturday the fleet has been divided into five groups: Gold, Silver, Bronze, Esmeralda and Pearl. The first three have fought two sleeves for one last two.
In the Oro Group there are several aspirants to end up in the podium, Rodríguez and Zmudzinski have marked a 5 and a 45 Spanish, the latter that it discards, so tomorrow cannot fail; for two third the Polish. They will both leave tomorrow with five points of advantage over the third classified and the Spanish Iker Múgica (CN Cambrils), who came to co-lead the general after the first day and who today has made a 14 and a 5, which keep him in the struggle for the title. His club partner, Joan Domingo (CN Cambrils) and current Spanish subchampion is fourth in the general after performing a 6-2.
The one who left as a great favorite, the Ukrainian Sviatoslav Madonna, has not had his day and after performing a 21 and 31, he has practically said goodbye to be able to win the Palamós Optimist Trophy, in the absence of a day for the end. He is currently fifth to 13 points of the leader in the fifth position, the same position with which he finished the previous edition.
There are four more Spanish regatists who are fighting to enter the Top Ten, in the tenth position is currently Catalan Miguel García (CN Cambrils), the shooting Sean Dylan Sadler (CNA Arenal), the tenth first; the Valencian and current female Spanish champion Blanca Ferrando (RCN Valencia), the tenth second and the shooting Bernardo Cavaco (CN Arenal), the third.
For tomorrow's Sunday day, the last of the Palamós Optimist Trophy, the Regata Committee will seek to give the last three exits, if the wind conditions allow. Today it has blown from the south-south-west between 7- 8 knots in the first test and it has been increasing from intensity to 14 in the second.

Second day, long and intense, of the 33 International Vila de Palamós Optimist Tropy-17 Nations Cup, in which the Ukrainian Sviatoslav Madonna has placed himself as a solo leader, followed by Spanish Iker Múgica, both with three points, but with better positions on the part of the Ukrainian. The third square is occupied by Spanish Hugo Rodríguez (CN Arenal).
In the first test of the day, the Tarraconense Iker Múgica (CN Cambrils) again demonstrated its strength and won the test, showing up to the moment undefeated with three first in the global and placing itself a leader in solitaire, because Sviatoslav Madonna, with whom the general hung a fifth and provisionally went down to the third square. Catalan Juan Lleonart (CN El Balís) won the test in a green group and climbed to the second square.
On the second of the day, the fourth of the global, Madonna imposed her law and marked a new first that raised her back to the head of the table. Meanwhile Múgica added a 21, which discards, thus losing a position, placing second, though with the same score as the leader.
The shooting Sean Dylan Sadler (CN Arenal) won the second test of the day in the yellow group and was located in the top ten, fifth of the general; while Lleonart, was marked a fifth in the green group, and placed fourth of the general.
After a long wait in the first hour of the afternoon the breeze returned with greater intensity blowing over the 8 knots, so they were able to give out again to the third and fourth sleeves, all of them with black flag raised by the Committee, so that any premature exit, in order to avoid general calls, would be penalized with a disqualification, as was the case in part of the fleet that crossed the line before time.
After completing four sleeves in the first two days of the Palamós Optimist Trophy, the fleet has already been divided into five groups: Gold in which the podium, Silver, Bronze, Esmeralda and Pearl will be played.

The Spanish Iker Múgica (CN Cambrils) and the Ukrainian Sviatoslav Madonna are the first leaders of the 33 International Vila de Palamós Optimist Trophy that has started today in the waters of Palamós Bay with 550 ships in liza.
Múgica and Madonna have won the two tests held in the inaugural day, the tarraconense has done it in the white and the Ukrainian group in the yellow, on a day that has been marked by the soft wind, which has not exceeded the six knots of south-south-south direction intensity, which has allowed the Committee of Regatas to save the day with the holding of two tests, on a day not easy, as the wind could fall at any time by not being able to complete the tests in the five groups.
The French Alexandre Mostini is the third in the general position after a first and a second in the blue group. From there comes a group of five Spanish regatists, among the top ten. Juan Lleonart (CN El Balís), fourth; Hugo Rodríguez (CN Arenal), fifth, Bruno García (CN L'Estartit), sixth; Roc García (RCN Palma), seventh and Amalia Coll (CN Arenal), ninth.

The 33 Palamós Optimist Trophy-17 Nations Cup is back to record numbers, that is 550 ships, limit that has established the organization in charge of the Club Nàutic Costa Brava / Vela Palamós.
This great sailing show will be held from 16 to 19 February in the waters of the bay of Palamós, with the participation of regatists arrived from 22 countries.
The Palamós Optimist Trophy is the second largest competition in the world, with the participation of regatists from the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Great Britain, Croatia, Denmark, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Hungary, Ireland, Netherlands, Poland, Germany, Switzerland, Sweden, Thailand, Turkey, Spain and Ukraine.
The 2022 edition was won by the Catalan Daniel Garcia de la Casa (CN El Masnou), which has already made the leap to class 420. This year the Ukrainian Sviatoslav Madonna, fifth last year in Palamós and winner of Lake Garda Country Cup, the City of Palma Trophy and the Euromarina Optimist Torrevieja, is the main favorite.
As for the Spanish participation, the Catalan Joan Domingo (CN Cambrils), the current Spanish subchampion, the Euromarina de Torrevieja and third in the City of Palma; Hugo Rodríguez (CN El Arenal), second to Palma and third to the Spanish Cup and the Spanish champion, Blanca Ferrando (RCN Valencia).
Being the absolute winner of a 550-boat race is within reach of very few. In this case, as it is a children's class, and with the changes in the category of children over 13 years of age to young classes, it makes it difficult for a regatist to defend the title of the previous year, the only one to achieve it in the 31 editions held was the Latvian Martin Atilla, in 2018 and 2019. Among the illustrious winners are the Olympic medalist to Tokyo 2020, Joan Cardona, winner of 2012.
One more year the Palamós Optimist Trophy will serve as the final colofon and delivery of the trophies of the Circuit Optimist Excellence Cup 2022-2023, of which they have formed by the regatas of Vigo, Palma, El Puerto de Santa María and Torrevieja.

The thirty-third edition of the International Palamós Optimt Trophy-17 Nations Cup, which will be held in the waters of Palamós Bay from 16 to 19 February, will have another year with 550 ships - the maximum allowed by the organizations - from 22 countries.
This is the second largest race in the world in ships - Optimist - of the same kind, after the Lake di Garda Meeting Optimist (Italy). The AECIO has appointed it as the final race of the prestigious Optimist Excellence Cup circuit.
This edition will take part in six regatists of the race team of Club Nàutic Costa Brava-Vela Palamós, leaving the school candle that encourages the city, is the case Jordi Camós, Gil Fages, Estela Trepat, Mertixell Guitiérrez, Gabriela Lugo and Alexia Aquise.
The logistics for such a race is not easy. To begin with as the facilities of the Nautical Club Costa Brava-Vela Palamós, organizer of the International Palamós Optimist Trophy, cannot accommodate such a large number of boats, however small they may be those of Optimist.
Everything is concentrated on the beach of Palamós, a large, very large and especially comfortable space for the participants and companions, as it has all the necessary services and is in the very center of the city, which makes it much more accessible to both the participants and the other public.
- On Wednesday, an Opening Ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. on the Passeig del Mar de Palamós, in which the more than half a thousand regatists will participate in a joint action with the hospital clowns, Pallapupas.
- On Friday the Winner party will be organized, a party for the regatists with a draw of 100 gifts and an optimal boat offered by the Nautical Club Costa Brava / Vela Palamós.
