Red April wins in La Toja and La Guardia Moreira las Villalia J70
Jorge Pérez Canal with Red April was proclaimed on the afternoon of the fifth event of the Villalia J70 Winter Series, held in La Toja, which has organized the J70 Class, with the support of the Royal Nautical Club of Vigo. Pérez Canal achieved victory thanks to his great regularity (two first, three third and one fourth), with one of the best series of the entire Circuit, the Orensian pattern has brilliant palmaris in the laser class, in which he arrived at the Spanish championship.
On the other hand, the Olympic Canary Jorge Martínez Doreste met its objective, which was to achieve the absolute victory of the entire Circuíto, with LaGuardia & Moreira, in which it was the third cane: first was the pattern the Lucense established in Vigo Gonzalo Araújo and did it in much of the Villalia, then the Coruñés Malalo Bermudez de Castro and finally the canary Martínez Doreste... a real luxury triplet.
As on Saturday little wind in the waters of the incomparable Isla de la Toja, despite which it was possible to complete the programming: three barlovento-sotavento and a coastal race, between the race field and the coquettes facilities of the Nautical Club Isla de La Toja. The winds began in the 10 knots north... to abar in the six knots north-east.

The first race of the day beginning at 10: 30 in the morning was for Red April, the second for LaGuardia & Moreira, the third for Marnatura1 and in the fourth repeated Pérez Canal... which in the end gave him victory in the act of La Toja.
The J70 Marnatura1 of Luis Bugallo, the Noticia of the Real Club Náutico de Barcelona of Luis Martín Cabiedes and Ramón Ojea of the Club Marítimo de Canido with their Pazo de Cea must be highlighted, as well as the two winners (act and general). They occupied the first five places, in which a great equality reigned, and which defined their positions in the closing sleeve.
As for the Cascais fleet, which put four units on the exit line: Delith, Kuboo, Sail Cascais and Naturea, the Lusitan female crew with Francisca Barros in the cane... being the best of the Dolith quartet that had in the cane with the double Olympic medal Tönu Toniste (their first medal was silver in 470 and won it by Russia, and the second already as Estonian, which was bronze also in 470).
The level of these Winter Series since they began last November has been huge with several Olympic medals, with patterns and crew of the projects of Volvo Ocean Race, Copa America and Young America's Cup... and many of the Spanish regatists who will be in Paris, case of Nico Rodríguez and Tamara Echegoyen among others. They represented Galician clubs from La Coruña to Vigo, from Catalonia, Cantabria, Balearic Islands, Canary Islands and Valencia... without forgetting Portugal that came with all its J70 army.
The next event of the Villalia J70 Spring Series in March and April, which with only two events to be held in olive waters in March and April... will first give way to the Galician Championship in May, and then to the Spanish Championship in June... both in the Vigo River waters.

With winds of ten knots of the north component began according to the schedule planned the first test, in which the victory was for Jorge Martínez Doreste: LaGuardia & Moreira, in which much guilt had one of its crew, the Arosan Juan Den, who knows perfectly these waters.
Following the leader of the general of the Villalia was the team of Luis Bugallo, the Marnatura1, being the third square for a toned Jorge Pérez Canal with Red April and the Viguese pattern of the Maritime of Canido, with the Pazo de Cea. The components of the Cascais fleet, for their part, did not adapt to this race field in the first round, with the Estonian Olympic medal Tönu Toniste being the ninth best in the group completed by Vasco Sherpa, Ghilleme Gomes and the female crew of Francisca Barros.
In the second manga the wind stood, even though in the end it went down to five knots and it was worth noting the LaGuardia & Moreira's second victory, ahead of Noticia de Barcelona and the aforementioned Ramón Ojea that was very competitive throughout the day.
As a closure took place a seaside-type sleeve (instead of the barlovento-sotavento of the first two), in which the wind was in the seven knots of the west. The victory for Luis Cavíedes with Noticia, ahead of Bugallo who repeated second place and the Orensian Jorge Pérez Canal with April Verde.
After the first day competition, the components of all the crews were enjoyed by the Royal Golf Club of La Toja, with a reception dinner... that marks the arrival of the fleet of J70, which is the monotype of reference at international level; and that it has not come to these waters as something occasional, but with the intention that it be a lasting initiative. For Sunday, the second day of the great final of the Villalia J70 Winter Series.

In the incomparable framework of the Toja in full Rías Baixas de Galicia, the final event of the Villalia J70 Winter Series will be held this weekend. The organization of the great event of this kind at the national level in the winter, along with the series organized by the Real Club Nautico of Barcelona, have chosen these waters with the conviction that La Toja is a paradise for navigation, even at this time of year.
The response of the sports entities based on the island, the case of the Royal Golf Club and the Nautico Isla de la Toja, has been very positive, accepting to interfere in the organizational tasks, as well as various top-level hotel companies, or services case of 14 _ 18. They will all work together to make the final act of the Villalia de J70 a complete success and become a traditional date for high-level sailing, as it was before.
At the invitation of the J70 Class and the Royal Nautical Club of Vigo (which carries the technical part of the event), you have given a positive response of twenty monotypes of various points of the Iberian geography... confirming the presence of many of the most representative J70: among which will be four from Portugal, who have already announced that they support the candidacy of Vigo as Atlantic reference of the class.

Vasco Sherpa is a legend in Portugal, not in vain is one of its most loved Olympic athletes on the other side of the Miño... with an Olympic diploma, as well as continental or world titles of the highest prestige. The head of the finals of Sail Cascais, has moved to La Toja four monotypes J70: one with female crew (to which will be added in spring with Mafalda Pires de Lima to the cane), BBDouro de Porto armed by Francisco Barros, who patrons Sherpa himself and finally in which will sail in this final act of the Villalia, the Estonian Olympic medals: Tönu and Toomas Toniste.
He is a leader of La Toja the LaGuardia & Moreira in which he traditionally carries the Gonzalo Araújo cane. The Lucense in Vigo will not be able to participate because he is in Lanzarote, in the pre-Olympic preparation of the Viguese medal Nicolas Rodríguez, of which he is his prepper. If in the last trials held, he had been replaced by the Coruñés Malalo Bermudez de Castro, he will now be made by another star: the Olympic Canary Jorge Martínez Dureste. In this J70 will sail Fátima Diz Barreras, a Viguesa who lives in Barcelona... and who is among the best in Spain. As well as the Arosan Juan Den, good regatists and great connoisseur of the waters of La Toja.
Final event for the J70 Villalia in La Toja, with two days: Saturday will begin at the edge of one and a half, and Sunday at ten and a half... ahead of four sleeves a day, if the wind allows. On-line all the favorites, from LaGuardia & Moreira, to April Verde, without forgetting the Nacua Sogacsa vineyard that is in a great form; as well as the Red April, the Seneca or the Marnatura. The Toja that used to celebrate the legendary regatas Vigo-La Toja and La Toja- Baiona, by the hand of the Nautico and the Monte Real, returns from the hand of Villalia to be in the first line of fire; sure this return will be lasting and consistent... for there is a lot of interest on the part of all those involved, that La Toja will be back in the prestigious sailing calendar.
