Miguel Fernández Vasco Bronze in Miami at the Finn World Cup
Miguel Fernández Vasco of the Royal Nautical Club of La Coruña, won the bronze medal in the absolute Finn World Cup that was held in Miami and in which 58 athletes from 15 countries participated.
After eight contested sleeves Miguel Fernández Vasco had from the beginning an outstanding performance in first positions and his best results were two seconds to finish with 26 points and four of the second ranked Hungarian Domonkos Nemeth, which could have been overcome if the last two sleeves were held on Tuesday, but they were suspended for lack of wind.
The world champion was the English ED Wright that marked distances from the first day and finally won in four of the eight sleeves. As a record, he has 6 medals in the World and 7 in Europe. For his part, Hungarian Nemeth was third in last year's World Cup in Italy.
Miguel Fernández Vasco, with his boat Belita, adds this third place in an absolute world, to his palmarés of triumphs at the autonomic level (the last four in a row), national (4 times absolute) and the Spanish Cup (11 edition champion) as well as the last absolute European celebrated.
