The nautical tourism is a strategic sector for Galicia that is in the process of expansion, and this project is a commitment to revaluing the tourist assets that this route possesses, advancing lines of action that will improve the port infrastructure of these territories, rehabilitate structures and enhance the environmental and heritage value of the tourist resources for which this unique Jacobea Route runs.

These lines of action result in the implementation of the digitization of resources, the creation or improvement of spaces for the reception of visitors and the improvement of tourist equipment, the implementation of new cultural and tourist supply related to the route or the improvement of the supply of services of the seaports and nautical clubs with the installation of intelligent control and surveillance equipment, the provision of sustainable mobility equipment to combat marine pollution as well as environmental management systems, wifi and adequacy networks and the improvement of energy efficiency in the different facilities, in order to obtain quality Q.

Plan Xacobeo Next Generation

The budget allocated to Galicia by this plan was 39.2 million euros with the aim of incorporating measures to preserve and make better use of the Caminos de Santiago and to promote tourism and economic activity.

In addition to the cohesion actions of the destination which include this project of revaluation of Traslatio and which have 8,4 million euros, the programme also includes plans of tourist sustainability in Destination, which have a budget of 8,1 million euros and projects for the maintenance and rehabilitation of the assets of cultural interest of the Camino de Santiago, with a budget of 22,7 million euros.
