The Getxo Sasoi Sasoian sports awards were delivered at the cruise terminal of the Getxo Sports Port... and the Royal Abra Maritime Club - Real Sporting Club, which it is 125 years old this 2023, was recognized in one more edition.

This time, with two distinctions. On the one hand, in the category of Team: Best sportsmen of the year. Thus, the team Fhimasa Escuela de Vela José Luis de Ugarte of the J80 class, formed by Nicolás Viar, Tomás Trueba, Alba Ortega, Manolo Rey-Baltar and Perico Basterra, received a award.

This crew was second ranked last year in the amateur general of this class J80 in the Newport World Cup, as well as being a champion of the Youth world and tenth in the absolute classification.

In addition, the Real Club Marítimo del Abra-Real Sporting Club, through its vice-comandante and regatist Carmen Galdós and Carmen Arbaiza, received the Berdintasuna Indartuz Award for the promotion of the equality of women's sport. The Club de Las Arenas has organized for the third consecutive year the International Women's Sailing Cup, a test only for women of any age that in recent years brings together the best regatists of the J80 class in Getxo waters.

This is also one of the tests belonging to the J80 Women's Iberdrola League, which included up to 15 female vessels, including the Fhimasa Escuela de Vela José Luis de Ugarte and Surne Women's Team.
